i spoke to loads of people about the car... :)

best was a 16.9 at 80mph, so something aint right :( probably something to do with the 2 liters of oil it drank on the way to santapod...

i think its because stupidly i didnt get the block honed when changing the rings, but it will have to do for now until i get another afh bottom end and spend some money getting it balanced and lightened and rebuilt properly :ninja:

I have always liked your car mate.

In fact it was a big part of my inspiration to get a loon myself - which I bought on ebay on Sunday night ;)

Good luck with the engine work.

JC

Looks well tidy man... Shame about the engine not running right!

nice :)

what are your plans??

car loked well nice at bugjm dude shame about the oil burning bit tho matey. am not really a fn of loons but in the show and shine it looked awesome so top work may see you around pal ( by the way am the lad with the red mk3 coupe :) )

Just so you know, your car makes me feel rude.

Seriously rude.

Also: loving the gold stripes - brilliant little touch.

nice :)

what are your plans??

If you see the beginning of my build thread youll notice mainly its going to be welding and painting! Retrotub

However, a milder version along the same lines as yours is in order - probably a stage 2 sub frame and suspension stuff with an afh and cbr600's eventually. Tidy up - suspension, brakes, engine, interior is the order but its probably 3years work with my cash reserves ;)

There is a ref mk3 coupe near me who was having his afh and cbr600 carbs tuned at my local tuner and I thought how much fun it looked and sounded. This lead to a bit of internet research and then I found clubpolo etc etc.....

I hope this is going to be at the Polo Show!!! :)

Well after my previous carbs decided to become incontinent and piss fuel everywhere i had to swap to my slightly larger cb750f backup carbs...

after swapping the main jets and needles and balancing them up they already run a million times better than the 600's and if ime honest the car feels faster and they make a much better noise! :p

Booked in for another bogg bros visit next monday at 1pm so we shall see what the new bhp reading is :D

at last weeks VW Festival i thought it was about time i invested in some quality wax...

after chatting to a few different detailing stands i decided on a limited edition pot of chemical guys 50/50 concourse paste wax (pot 1207 of 2000 apparently...)

here are the results after todays clean, which has consistsed of:

wheels and exhaust first,

two washes with megs gold class shampoo,

treated all the trim and tyres with autoglym rubber and vinyl care,

fully polished with autoglym ultra resin polish

buffed with lambs wool mitt

full wax using chemical guys 50/50 concourse paste wax, buffing as i went around the car a panel at a time,

a final coat of poor boys world black hole show glaze to give it the ultimate shine!!

let me know what you think :)

(tbh i dont think it is possible to get a car any shinier!)
