well here is my new daily! 1993 e30 316 lux tourer

It was inevitable really as the polo was slowly becoming to good to be using everyday (especially through winter) and increasingly impractical so after looking into these sometime ago i finally bit the bullet yesterday when this little gem popped up on e30zone at £950 originally but eventualy the price came down to £400 and then we picked up last night for £300! :)

totally genuine car, ime the 4th owner from new, 107k, top end rebuild at 80k, stacks and stacks of receipts, lowered 60/60 with springs and dampers, full polybushed front end with supplied rear axel polybushes, new drop links etc etc it has its a few small niggles but the engine pulls strong and its a ball to drive!

the plan is to use it for a few months while i strip apart the polo engine AGAIN and rebuild it to the proper standard i should have previously and then when that is finally all sorted after winter, the beemer will come off the road to have my friends spare m20 (2.5) fitted for some proper rear wheel drive fun :)

What box do you run on the polo mate?

What box do you run on the polo mate?

got a 1.3 8p box on there atm but its lost the savage acceleration and is much better on the top end, whereas the old 1ltr 8p i had was much much lower so it depends what you prefer

Very nice BMW! My mum will be looking for a new estate next year, I'm going to try and convince her to buy something awesome on the second-hand market.

will look even better after a proper polish and wax on thursday, i haven't really had chance to get my head into all the nooks and crannys yet so ill have it much tidier ;)

to be honest the boot opening is crap for an estate because the lights protrude into the opening alot making it hard to fit in large items!

But 8p box's are the same :?

BM looks so sick btw. Awesome cars, id love one one day :)

Yeah, it looks like it could do with a good polish (feel free to do mine too ). Maybe so but often will you really be carrying large items?

just sat and read through this....awesome mate!!!! totally transformed it and totally inspired me on the engine front....have you thought about fitting a gti bottom end????

Both boxes started with the code with 8p and this one is noticably longer without a doubt so god knows?...

well the dizzy turned up yesterday (would have been quicker but had problems with my bank card...) and it was £45 well spent!

definitively feels much torqueyer (spelling, fuck knows...) all through the rev range and has got rid of flat spots in the middle rev range

H&H ignition solutions = highly recommended!

before and after (notice the missing vac advance)
