well the dizzy turned up yesterday (would have been quicker but had problems with my bank card...) and it was £45 well spent!

definitively feels much torqueyer (spelling, fuck knows...) all through the rev range and has got rid of flat spots in the middle rev range

H&H ignition solutions = highly recommended!

the ignition setup is no different to previously, I've just had the advance curve tuned differently to work better with my cams and carbs :)

well i didnt have a single problem getting started through all the snow etc last year and thats without a choke! so yes, change to electric ignition while you can :)

Recognised this in Golf+ this month, fair play! Dizzy sounds like a good idea. Was yours knackered, or did you just hear it should make a difference? This makes me want to get on with mine soooooo much!

what happens if you just simply unscrew the vac advance 'mushroom' from the dizzy so theres nothing there? would it affect the engine running at all? as I'm not using vac advance on my afh. isit just a matter of having a hole in your dizzy?

no they made some triangle shaped plate as there is a small bar under neath that is attached to something inside (crap description, i know nothing about dizzys!)

The UFO shaped thing is a diaphram IIRC , it pulls on a small lever that retards,/advances the ignition timing. I think they will have probably held it static somehow.

What I've done on both my bike carb engines is set the vac advance manually to full. Basically the disc the vac advaned was attached to needs to be pulled all the way round and then secured in position. This puts it in full advanced and also stops it moving around with might happen if you just left it. Also I've just put some duck tape over the whole to stop dirt and stuff getting in.

nope literally just took it off!
