well the minilites didnt fit :(

stupidly i only tryed them on the rear and assumed that seens as they came off a polo it wouldnt be a problem...

it appears they dont clear g40 calipers :(

so reluctantly they are up for sale once again: Here!

If the guy is putting slicks on then the car is going to be used at a track, why would you downgrade your brakes?

Errm he said vw1 carriers - not carriers .

The VW1 carriers give you more clearance and you can run the G40 callipers on them - no change to your breaking but more clearance.

How many mm is the clearance issue?

I know a man that grinded the caliper flat to make a certain set of wheels fit. Aswell as running a 5mm spacer.

Well ime going from my previous experience of hitting 9k and still pulling, so hopefully once its all lightened and balanced i think it sounds realistic :)

You've had it to 9 already?

Lightening wont increase the rpm, but will make it safer to hit that higher number due to having reduced momentum. You need to make it breathe better, which I'm sure you'll know.

However, I look forward to seeing it. Any idea of the power you're producing?

you need to watch out that your engine components can handle that as my forged rods are only good to 9k and thats mainly due to the arp bolts but it sounds loud enough at 6.5k and thats the most its gone upto lol

Plastic timing belt rollers... you checked the safe working limit of those? you checked the same working limit of the oil pump? also of the timing belt itself? or safe working limits of bearings before they explode.

I'm sure you know about all this but just thought i'd say...... :-)

also gave one of the monos a go while i was outiside, i want to say i like them but i just cant decide, i think i need to wait until the engine is fitted (front end will be alot lower) and the car is back on the road until i decide

Much prefer the star mags. Looks so good on that car

i do like the starmags dont get me wrong, i just fancied a change for the new show season and fancied going bigger and tucked
