Believe me i almost can!

Worked from 9.30am till 9pm yesterday and 8.30am till 12noon today and it is done and FINALLY smoke free!!! I have never been so happy, its time to fall back in love with my car again :)

And i am proud to say that was all done in just one day, the last little bits were done in a couple of hours the next morning. It then happily fired into life with one turn of the key and purred like a kitten :)

Well at first i assumed it was just a fucked block, but when i took it apart i noticed the previous set of piston rings i fitted must have been wrong because they moved around in the ring seats alot (bought from gsf...) i know i should have probably noriced this, but having never fitted any before i just assumed thats how they were meant to be!

I can't help but notice you've painted the inside of the oil filter connection and the inside of the oil breather connection.

Makes no odds if there is paint in there surely?

It's just unusual, fitting/removing the oil filter will break bits of paint off the thread which could find its way into the oily bits. Not such a big deal on the breather, so long as everything makes a good seal. If the oil filter seal ring of metal on the engine has been painted it's not garunteed to seal properly.

I've lost count of how many engines you've been through. I hope this one sees you right :)

This is true, i normally put the old filter on to paint the block tbh. Saves taping it up.

well its all sealed up without a problem anyway :) i just needed to hurry up and paint it!
