the other day I heard a horrible noise then lots of scrapping. break down people said I'd screwed my wishbone. I've looker and a bolt is missing. nothing is in the hole I can feel the thread in side. is it just a case of getting a new bolt. if so what size? attache its a picture for your viewing please.

by the look of the picture its just pulled the wishbone out of the subframe same thing happened to my 6n but i cought it before the bolt fell out

I did go searching for the bolt and thought I had found it lol but it was just a random one on the road.

Called up every VW in Yorkshire and they couldnt get hold of one for a week. Quick call to Altrincham VW and they have on sat wating for me

Yeah at first I thought that aswell, but if you look closer Dubbegood you can see it's just a trick of the eye. So to speak.

It's definately there, but you will need to readjust the position of the ball joint in the mounting before you can whap the bolt back through. Might need to remove the wishbone completely if its being a bastard.

I just hope there aint the other half of the bolt being sneaky and hiding in the threads somewhere? What a idiot of it to come out like that, them bolts never come out easily when you want them too.. !

Oh you mean the bit the wishbone sits in? No that is still there. I can see how it looks like its not though.

I have in the back of my mind the thought half the bolt could still be in there. I got my pinky as deep in there as it would go and couldnt feel anything.

At the moment the car is sat at my house in Leeds and break down recovery are refusing to move it (I've had the financial ombusman raise a complaint but thats another issue). The arch is sat on the tyre so as long as I can get part of the bolt in to hold it in place we can drive it onto a flat back.

Looking at your picture it looks like your anti roll bar is rubbing on the body.

I have recently got issues with my anti roll bar and it looks exactly the same!

Does yours rub badly? Also, how do you cure it?
