My 13" 6J wide BBS ra's needed longer bolts.

You may think there long enough but there not. The bolt tread wont go far enough in the hub, making low tourqe on the hub.

Usually you will thread the bolt and your hub threads. Best getting longer ones pal

This was on 13" inch ra's though so the et may have been different.

ok so no wheels today, got as far as ordering bolts for a mk2 golf as thats what the wheels were (i think)

also going for 185.55.14 tyres as they're 37.99 +vat each

the 195.45.14 are at 59.99 +vat each (bugger that)

The G40 13in BBS RAs and late Mk2 Golf 16V ones fit with standard bolts.

If you get the 14s, as fitted to some 8V Mk2 Golfs, you will need considerably longer bolts. I can't remember how much longer though. I think they're either 19 or 24mm, but you'll need to check. For some reason the 14s have a thicker hub mounting face than the others, even though they're all about the same offset.

I've got 14" RAs on my loon. need much longer bolts with the tapered seat. Put your bolts through them and see how far they reach and then measure them and you'll know how much longer they need to be.

Part worns are always a good shout to. Usually hard to find four the same brand but if you can get pairs then its not to bad.

part worns are shit! do not buy them guys! i bought some from top gear tyres in ellesmere port they were dunlop sp3000's after two weeks one split across the whole tread of the tyre, took it to a garage hoping to get a refund at it turned out the tyres were from 2000! seriously guys its a no no I've found a place that does A539's for £65 fitted and balanced with a vavle each!

agreed. part worns are a waste of time and most of the time dangerous. spend a bit more and get a tyre that lasts a LOT longer. and I've found that budgets were lasting me 2months tops. switched to falken ziex 912s and 3-4months down the line and I've still got atleast 7mm of tread all round :)

why didnt you just buy the right size tyres in the first place? it would have saved you money in the long run and save you from having to mess with the arches

i bought the tires at the highest of my budget, the 195/45/14's as recommended were far too much 59.99 a corner

the ones i've got now are the lowest profile the garage could supply

also got a free backbox, pretty chavvy as the pipe is about 4inch but hey... i'm different....

Yea my tyres are normally pretty cheap for tyres, you got any pics with the wheels on the car then? :)

it's always too dark, i'll get some phone ones after work tomorrow

probably getting the arches rolled early next month

washed and waxed car today after work and took some shoddy photos before it got dark

they're from my phone, dont expect any better as i dont have a digital camera (POOR)
