used to drive a 6n2 but it got written of by a bmw not looking on a roundabout now in a 106 just saving enough for another polo :)

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. My man went to over take a lorry and a car going about 35mph. The lorry put his foot down n we only just pulled infront of him with a car coming the other way!! Even thought there was heaps of room!! The lorry driver didnt like being over taken obviously cuz he rammed my Golf and then got out the lorry banging on the window saying it was 'irresponsible driving'.

Luckily the golf held well and he just scratched the bumper a bit but i was LIVID n wanted to smash him in with a hammer!!!! I cant believe there are such tossers on the road.

not quick enough i dont think!!!! Lol. I'm pretty sure he seen us go to overtake n then put his foot down so he'd have gained a bit of speed before we realised to put our foot to the floor!!!!

you should be putting your foot to the floor anyway your overtaking and on the wrong side of the road and at any time a car could appear in the opposite direction.

Deffo ring the police as from that description of what happened, he could be done for quite afew things!

I've had it happen. Overtook a van that was travelling at 15mph while the 2 occupants were busy chatting. He tailed me all the way down the road till we got to the next set of lights and then he cut infront of me and the driver got out acting all big.

I slammed teh car in reverse, went back 20m and then took a run at him. Very wrong i know but the look on his face as i booted it at him was priceless and he had to dive back into his van

Yowiee, report it to the police and ALWAYS make sure you at least get reg plate. Never hand over your details without getting the other parties. Nothing you can do really if you haven't already reported it to the police.

Your first move is not nice, but perfectly acceptable - the right lane is there so you can overtake the left. The overtaking match that ensued is a little less pardonable. But the van driver is a grade A prick. You should have been on the phone to the busies as soooooon as he hit your car.

I think it may be too late to do anything, but at least report it to the police, tell em the whole truth and should the van driver decide to claim against you (which he might) there will already be a police report (get a reference) with your side of the story.

(PS if I'm repeating anything already said i apologise - just realised theres 3 pages of this shit!)

Of course camera evidence is worth something as it never lies - my mate got someone done with a mounted dash cam footage alone, the court accepted it as sufficient - whoever says otherwise is talking out their poop pipe!

i thought they would be otherwise why would the po po have camera's mounted to their cars if they couldn't use it as evidence... seemed a bit strange to me that did.

i think there can be times that cctv cannot be used alone, ie if you cannot categorically prove a person was at a place when the cctv was filmed

if you can establish that it was the individual in that place then i guess cctv would be acceptable

i didnt do law of evidence module in my degree but to me that would seem most likely

so if i get a pic of the ugly mug behind the wheel and in the same frame, get his reg plate, that would be enough to charge them with driving like a retard?

nah, this is just an informed guess btw but

if you had a video of him driving like a spack, and then some other means of proving he was in that place at that time however that may be, then you MAY be able to charge him. dont quote this as fact though

the photo/video on its own wouldnt be enough, as any decent solicitor would point out it could be anybody at any time

yeah, but if the video shows him and his reg plate at the same time then it shows that the driver of AB12CDE or whatever was driving like a spacker. if it has date and time, would that help?
