Pre ordered it from shopto today, they say it's out on December 3rd

I got an email from Amazon saying its out on the 24th Nov and i should have it on the 25th but it always comes the day before release date from Amazon.

I could have sworn I posted this news up about 14:30 this afternoon on a separate thread.

I must be mistaken because I've got no pm explaining why a mod took it down, and it can't have been considered off topic because this thread hasn't been removed?

That VW line up is hardly different from GT4 bar some more air cooled. What about prize/hidden cars though? Do they normally announce them?

I thought they were putting the G40, ah well.

I wonder if they will be doing downloads with new cars, etc.

edit: I think i'm getting ahead of my self. Flip knows how long it will be before the actual game is released never mind addons.

The VW line up is pretty lame. Forza 3 has the new Scirocco - GT5 has the 2005 (!) Mk5 Golf GTI, not even a Mk6! No Scirocco. And it's got a 2001 Polo GTI... there are two newer versions!

Graphics is all its got going for the game, gona be alike all previous vers, crap engine sounds, handles crap, no proper drifting doesnt work not realistic it enough, skid sounds crap....

Live for speed Handle much better with G25/27 let down by gfx though but its still the best simulator.

Have you ever driven a rear drive car? I think you'll find GT5 prologue is pretty damn realistic for drifting. If you don't balance the throttle properly, you either pile straight on if you are carrying a lot of speed, or spin!

Also, the engine sounds are fairly realistic until you start adding aftermarket exhausts etc on to them.

The handling is crap? Hmm... Not so sure about that. Something GT seems to have sorted that a lot of other games don't seem to perfect is lift off oversteer and throttle adjustability...

ime not sure i have much faith in the 24th November release date though tbh :(

It's just a poor list really. I'm all for the classic VWs, but the cars that are about a decade old and nothing special (mk4 Golf GTI, 2.0 Beetle, 1.4 Lupo etc etc) are just old hat, and tbh a waste of time. Where's all the current stuff?

Applies to most of the manufacturers too. Reading through the full list it seems the majority of cars are recycled from the old game(s). Which is fine, but they're missing out on so many new cars a new game should have as well.

I'll still buy it though

The average age of the "new" cars being 6-10 years old is because 80% of them are lifted directly from GT4 and GTPSP only with a few features turned off like the ability to swap wheels. Just 230 cars have been made specificaly for GT5. If you want to run round in a Polo GTi or Ibiza Cupra (the closest thing to the 9N range in the game) then you don't get a cockpit view and you are limited on modifications.

I'll stick with forza then.
