looks pants in that video, looks no different to number 4 graphics or simulation wise :/

Believe me, they have it bang on with graphics.

Better than any other racing game about Dan.

Graphics are better then GT4 but that video isnt the best quality

Also just read that full damage is unlocked at higher levels (around 17) to ease newcomers into the game

Shit driving tom

Shit driving tom

Not of me playing their random ones on the playstation forum, I only have a yaris, civis, go-kart and mx-5 and have completed about 4 events

see they look nothing like the in-game graphics de-picketed in the video

cheers for the list of fords! :D

Is it me or have just copied and pasted the gt4 cars over and stuck a few more in, not many though :?

and isn't that bottom pic the grand canyon from gt4 or have they put in gt5 as well?

Most cars are imported from GT4, but they have been "re-modeled"

200 of the 1000 are "premium" models which were created specifically for GT5 and they look amazing inside and out...and theres much much more downloadable content to come comfirmed by Polyphony which will include more premium cars!

For me this has been a complete flop, having pre ordered it 3 years ago when they first announced it I thought that they might have had a relaxed approach and really put the effort in.

After buying it on release day I cant really say how disappointed I was.

For a start the fact that the intro movie has the worst music and lasts 10 minuets from start to finish sets the tone.

With the Japanese style menus which are ugly to the terrible "lift style" music throughout I think it totally feels like a rushed game.

The biggest let down though is the actual game engine, it feels exactly the same as gt4. Running this with the terrible fixed camera makes me feel like I'm playing outrun!

The controls speak for themselves really, having played forza 3 for the past year or so with all the difficulties on clutch, traction off, abs off, everything off coming to this felt terrible. The fact that there is no variable acceleration or braking is terrible, the fact there’s no clutch so it feels like everything has a dsg. Having changed the controls to Forza style using the triggers as there is no variable its either no braking or lock ups, no acceleration or wheel spin. Looks like ill be attempting to use the 4 year old style of racing game controls.

Another let down is the collision detection, talk about bumper cars. Reading the back of the box before i even started off saying " collision damage including scrapes and sparks" sounds like you couldnt be arsed to finish that section off!

They seem to have not put effort into the right sections, another example is the modifying. What’s with the stage one and stage 2 malarkey with turbos and engine work, people don’t buy this who don’t enjoy abit of technicality. For me it feels like they have trapped themselves in a box for the last 3-4 years and not even seen the other competing like forza.

I could go on more but I've had my rant , ill finish on the fact i was initially told that their would be a polo g40 on there but i highly doubt it as because its European there’s about 5 cars per manufacturer and the japs about 30!

cheers

I heard you unlock the rights to buy brakes, which is unusual.

I like the begging of the intro, but MCR, i like them but, nooo, that made ite meh

The controls you have to get used to, I'm really used to Hot pursuit and burnout and was rubbish when i st go it, now I'm getting into it,

And the damage, it gets better the further you get into the game as a way t introduce newcomes with ease, and i prefer it like this as also the AI get more tactical the more you play and evel up,

Forza is a great game but i think its only up side is the customizeation,

And a japanise company making a driving game, course there gona have more Japanise cars, Like it has been through all of GT.

Anyway

I GOT A POLO :D

Amen,

(accept controls) - I'v played and had every GT and iv loved how you use the analog controls and very used to it, played it at work today. And i was right to judge the crappy sounds again for skids, engine and anything else.

Other then what was said above i dont know if i will buy it even for a discount of £19.

Why are half the cars 5 door, it's really getting on my tits now

And I've given up hope on getting a Polo now...

:(

I've got 4 Lupos ffs.

Won the Veyron earlier, can't believe that's not a premium.

Anyone who wants a race, add me on PSN, User ID is Schlug

Why is everyone complaining about controls?

Go to the god damn options and change them to the triggers!!! You can completely customize every button!!

As for graphics, this game is insane. The graphics are simply mind blowing. The cars are so crisp and are true to proportions. Even the surroundings have so much life and character about them.

The only way that the graphics may seem rubbish is if your equipment isn't upto the job, i.e. rubbish TV, not using HDMI etc.

The only thing which is rubbish is the damage module, but GT never wanted to include damage, because there is no way of making it realistic. They were just pressured by the media who said a car game can't be realistic without damage.

I think the way the cars feel and the gameplay more than make up for that though!

I also love the way that cars are levelled, because previously you could just do the clubman cup 20x and then buy a quick car and do all the rest of the basic races so they were all piss easy. The new system makes sure you progress up through different car classes and specs!

I've not seen one yet. Hopefully will bump into one in the used car section, I want that 6N2 GTI

gran turismo's have never been about track cars, its more of a realistic racing simulator for use with standard cars, where as forza 3 is a bit of everything and may i add it took half the time to make and since it came out months ago its cheaper, has more of a following as it came out first and convinced a few of the playstation faithful to turn to the dark side, came on two discs which was very easy to deal with yet has quite a bit of content, you can near enough change/mod everything on the car and realistically too (you can change the suspension characteristics in 8 ways) the console itself is cheaper as that came out a long time ago and forza 3 is in no way an "arcadey" game! it just does not look as sharp as a game that took twice as long to make and encorparate several cars that aren't even worth a second look, such as the Suzuki Cappuccino ‘91 and Volvo 240 Estate '88. There are reasons microsoft did not include these cars in forza 3.

I had gt3 and gt4 donkeys years ago when i had the old bigger ps2 and i cant beleive they've only just released gt5. I must say i am glad i got a 360 over a ps3.

This isn't about PS3 v Xbox fella.

I wouldn't say GT isn't about track cars, I think your very wrong there, considering half of the cars are racing GT and Le Mans cars.

its difficult not to get the 360 v ps3 arguement into it when you compare gt5 to the next biggest competitor which is forza 3.

And when i said track cars i meant cars that people would own and tune themselves realistically not race cars.

Forza 3 doesn't have the depth of GT prologue never mind GT5.

I've got Forza aswel, and it's cool to have a casual drive around etc but it's just not realistic enough. Most of the cars feel identical to drive, and that's when I am using my full racing simulator and steering wheel too!

The graphics of the premium cars and the detail on them blows away any Forza car, and the fact it runs at a 1080p, not 720p like Forza also makes it much sharper in general.

The biggest problem with Forza is that the story mode, or GT mode is a bag of shite. There's no point to it, it's just doing races to get money so it gets boring.

I love the special races and the licences you have to do on GT, and just neat little touches like going for a car wash.

Not to mention the fact that GT has the actual Top Gear track which is epic to drive round.

I've never liked GT since forzas been out. Just reminds m e of arcade machines tbh.

how do you change the control options? add me kingsleys

Just a heads up guys

New patch on 1st December, Added a bit more damages to the cars when they crash :)

Also PD have sayed they will work and will bring out more cars and make more cars ingame premium,

Please make the polo one of them :)
