Sound system help! (including sub woofer)

Featured Replies

By having the 6x9's on the parcel shelf and a sub in the boot, you are negating the effect of the 6x9's because as they move, the sub moves creating a massive pressure change in the boot space and pushing against the 6x9's cone.

Earth for the amp can be from any bare piece of metal, I strapped mine to the seatbelt.

If you have a wiring kit, it should come with an inline fuse with the power cable and the remote cable that turns the amp on should go to the blue (remote) cable on the back of the HU.

Make sure you run the power cable and aux cables along two different sides of the car otherwise you will get interference.

I have some 6x9s in the parcel shelf , They were cut in there when i brought the car. I just ran some audio wire to the headunit and powered them off that. Only while there where no other speakers and i decided to keep them.

Even with the subwoofer in the boot i can hear the music really clearly. People dislike 6x9s although I've never really heard anything better then what i have in mine to its pretty biased to be honest.

Hopfully i can get a 16V soon and start propper work on that with some propper gear :)
