Not the normal number plate problem

Right got pulled last night with the German plates on, so told the copper ye ok ill swap them to which he was ok with, but he then said my old plastic ones were also illegal as the had no makers or BS mark on them, so i said that they didnt apply as the were pre november 2008 at this point he got really shitty and said that was 2 years ago you should have changed your plates. WTF? his reply was listen dont argue with me I am the law.

Can anyone clarify the 1st of November 08 law changes, I'm sure i posted up a list here last time someone got cought but am unable to find it.

I have photo evidence that the plates predate november 08 as well...the oldest being 7/10/07 @ blackpool lights run

These are the plates in question: Full UK Font with Uk spacing

Car was lowerd in January 09 so above photo is aprox August 08 as its about then i got the grill.

The German ones, (Yes they are illegal i know have known all along but that isnt the complaint here, worse thing its only the J,1 that look obviously diffrent)

Edit: BTW once the number plates are in the holders you wouldnt be able to see the marks anyway.
