3 dr Mk III Rear quarter panel

Hi everyone. I'm kinda new to the forums and would appreciate any help or advice you could offer.........

After having my 3 dr Mk III for only 2 months a couple of years ago, some idiot (still at large!) made a fairly big dent along the rear quarter panel on the passenger side. Luckily the dent was underneath the window but the crease on it extends from one end of the panel to the other (also replaced the rear cluster).

Is it worth stripping out the interior to push out as much of the dent as possible while filling over the crease afterwards? Or should I just admit defeat and get rid of it?
