Hey.....I made this thread and the rule is

But its not a polo max, on the log book it will say beetle, so how can it be the lowest polo if its a beetle?

its a polo. its MOT'ed as a polo and will be tax'ed and insured as a polo very soon.

But its not a polo its a beetle with a modified body.... Wether its insured as that or not is another matter. So many points for certain parts of a vehicle and I'm sure body doesent have that high of a number compared to chassis and running gear lol.

Either way, any new pics of it?

its had the chassis shortened and the front beam narrowed, iv read and been told because of that it would be very hard if at all to put it on the beetle plates.

so it will be on a Q plate so will be classed as a polo!

or is it a polo with modified running gear/underbody???

Dont get some peoples obsession with going lower and lower. Just makes it impossible to drive the car without damaging it, and everything you drive over. Plus all the rubbers and bushes and suspension wears out really quick and costs even more money. Stock height for me currently. Getting 35mm H&R's soon which is plenty to IMPROVE the way the car drives. Most of the super low cars dont even have a nice stance, just look like they are broken.

Suspension bush wear is arguable if you torque them up at the correct ride height to eliminate the preload in them.

it would be tested as a modified beetle as that's what the chassis, steering, suspension, engine ect are from and these are the areas tested under the points system, on a separate chassis vehicle the shell has get little bearing on the test as its little more than cosmetic. The only choice the tester would have would be will it keep the beetle registration or be given a Q plate as a radically altered vehicle, in the eyes of the powers that be it would never be in any danger of being registered as a polo

As for the dog/women/man scenario you mention above, its not really the same. As your car is still a beetle underneath it would be more like a man getting a tit job and growing his hair, but still keeping his original undercarriage, and in that kind of situation no matter how fit it looks, its still a man
