I hope this doesn't sound like I'm bitching or owt, I fucking love the car and have massive respect for it as an engineering feat, I'm just pointing out that it isn't actually a polo anymore. Wonder how many times he will get pulled when the old bill run the plates and it comes up as a beetle

It's not a ringer tubs, it will still have the beetle chassis with the beetle chassis numbers. Bugs are separate chassis cars so you can legally swap the body no problems, think you'd still need to take it for a test just to prove that the numbers match but there is no reason at all that this couldn't be used on the road in terms of legality's. It will no doubt get the polices attention as they will no doubt think its a polo with beetle plates, but not a lot they can do about it as long as its done by the book

It's no different to making a beetle beach buggy

Depends on the year of the beetle, but if the bug was tax exempt then yes

Chasis is a beetle chasis with narrowed & cambered front beam, WB is 2 inches longer than the polo but it is not shortened just used to get the wheels where George wanted them...

Apologies to Huw as I crashed the mk1... was a very upsetting day but some good has come from it at least!

Kiz - lots of work still to be done, George churned this out in 3 and a bit days though just for the show...
