i've thought about doing this :-D:D but the funds and the space to do it is a no no for me

diesel is the way forward, is the conversion as hard to do as you first thought, or was it worse ???

not sure mate, it was the lad before me that did it

from what i know, i think he just paid a company called dubsport in wigan to do it all and there was little problems with it

i know i have had little to no problems with it since i've had it anyway!

its an ace conversion to do in the end, is fast as fuck, the torque is unreal and is still about 35mpg

without the full sound system? including head unit, extra battery, amp reader, door speakers, dash tweeters, both subs and the 4 amps?

We have a MK4 GT TDI 150 in the household which I've tuned to 183bhp and 300lb/ft and through the gears, it's on par with my best mates MK5 R32.. so if this Polo has a genuine (ARL) engine with front mounted intercooler as in the Golf I can only imagine how good it must be!!

There's definitely more than £5k in that conversion so really it is a bargain..

thanks guys! it really is fast, you have to take it steady going through first and second and into third or else it will wheelspin right through. but even going steady it is as fast as most other cars i've encountered. to be honest though i just prefer to take it steady with the tunes cranked up, the sound system is insanely loud. it has all been done professionally so the quality is top notch, it is honestly better than all (bar 2) drum n bass/dub/dance night sound systems i've been to.

and its still registered as a 1.4 so it is possible to insure it as a standard 1.4 making insurance mega cheap. i insured it with all modifications through adrian flux and it cost me £1200 as a 22 year old lad with 2 years no claims. but obviously as a 1.4 it would be much, much cheaper!
