coilovers arrived on monday!! got em on now and there realy stiff handles well better!!! perfect for setting up your own stance, i put them on myself realy easy to fit!! I've been told by loads of my mates that these are one of the best budget coilovers you can buy!! and for the price you can go wrong!! cheers phil

hiya thinking of getting these, after fitting is there anything else needed? ie tracking,alignment etc? can i expect steering/suspension parts to wear out quicker?

Tracking and camber is needed after any suspension modifications. The car will be much stiffer, but wear all depends on how you drive, how low you are, what profile tyres you are running, and how many potholes you hit.

Prompt delivery of these coilovers, very pleased with service.

If this is any relevance to forum members, i can confirm that these coilovers will go lower than Jamex coilovers as i have just removed my Jamex ones and replaced with these. There's at least 20-30mm more drop with the Philj coilovers.

It's hard to give a true drop measurement as hardly anyone runs standard wheels etc, but i'm running 16's on my 6n with 165/45/16 tyres which are really skinny.

I've made the arch gap completely disappear and there's still more thread to go with the helper springs in.

So if you were running 165/50/15's 195/45/15's 165/55/13's etc, you would get the same effect, it's a decent drop tbf, more than my Jamex ones and i thought they were fairly low.

order a set a few weeks ago and they arrived about 3 days after i paid for them, only just got round to fitting them today but they are very good coilovers, good ride and can go very low, i have them wound down about 3/4 and they are almost too low haha

Phil, do these coilovers weigh less than stock ones on the 1.4 16v 6n? Have you weighed them.

I just seen threads on JOM's vs Raceland coilovers (budget one retailing around £200.00) and like majority of the posts slate them or make so much fun out of them.

I was quite shocked to see so many people taking the mick out of them and then thought why no one has dissed these coilovers which are in fact even cheaper than JOM's and Raceland.

It would be nice to see more Polo owners giving a review on these.

Don't suppose I could get as many measurements as possible for the fronts of these-

Total height

Distance from top mount to top bolt which holds hub

Distance between two hub mounting bolts

Gap between bracket that holds hub

and any other useful measurements.

Trying to retrofit them to something else...

Unfortunately as they come from abroad I haven't got one around to measure. They are pretty much the same as mk2 golf fronts for those measurements though.

I haven't weighed them, but being made from lighter materials I suspect they would be lighter than the standard units.

There are some reviews on these on here, they are still budget coilovers, albiet better than the previous lots, you can't expect them to perform like a £600 set!

Unfortunately these black spring'd 6n kits are now out of stock, and will be now the blue spring'd kits
