Cracked on yesterday & pulled the engine out - never removed an engine in my 10 years of Poloing so this was a monumental day!

I will ask my brother as he was at the controls! It wasn't too bad though and it was manageable.

Engine update: Full 3F/GT conversion will be going in!

Popped over to see the car on Saturday, my brother is making good progress so far. He's started in the worst corner in terms of rot and shoddy repair work (lots of filler!)

Good Friday will see us remove the engine from my old GT breadvan so my brother can easily chop some sections out for the Derby repair & I can crack on and clean the engine up.

Anticipating the delivery of rear arch repair panels (hopefully this week!).

Removed the GT engine yesterday, lots of memories came floating back. Bought the car in January 2007 and only used until late 2009 when it came off the road.

Anyway, removed the entire wiring loom and labelled up the engine connectors. Unsure of what I need for the conversion so I thought best to remove all of it carefully.

The chassis is ready to be flipped over the lump now (which has been dropped onto a wooden pallet for now).

Haven't done much with this of late - waiting for the bodywork/welding to get underway.

I have purchased braided brake lines, copper brake pipes, brake pads, a 4 branch, mk2 Polo alloy rocker cover, HT leads, dizzy cap & arm and probably a few more bits here and there!

At least you can stare at all your shiny new parts while you wait for the bodywork to get done. One thing I will say is look into Kunifer brake pipes instead of copper. Worth it if you are replacing all the lines.
