2005 Ford Mondeo ST TDCi - £4750

Featured Replies

Due to a change in jobs, both my Mondeo ST and my Polo GTI (see other ad) are for sale so we can downsize to one car. Please note that the car won't be available to drive away until the weekend of the 25th/26th September!!!

Ford Mondeo ST TDCi

Bought the car in March 2009. Up until then it had been a one owner, company car and had done just over 82k miles and as such, had been maintained regardless of cost. When looking for an ST we'd been told to look for a higher mileage/company owned car as opposed to one that had been through a couple of private owners who might not have maintained it as well as a company owned vehicle might have been...

Car is on an 05 plate and finished in silver with heated half leather seats and all the other usual ST kit - 18" alloys, 6speed 155bhp 2.2TDCi engine, Sony stereo with aux-in for your iPod etc. Car is now running at 116k miles and will be going up about 500-600 miles a week for the next 3 weeks so by the time its available for sale, the mileage will be about 118k miles, 99% of these being motorway cruising miles (my commute is a 60 mile motorway pootle around Manchester!).

Overall, the car is in excellent condition. Interior is almost as perfect as the day it rolled out the factory. Exterior it has the odd couple of marks to be expected from a car of this mileage... few stone chips here. The common fault with the rear bumper drooping on the hatchback STs has been fixed with a new reinforced bumper on warranty but thats now starting to drop again slightly (its not broken the mounts like the old one did so I can only assume its not been refitted properly - suspect it'll get fixed again on warranty...). The wheels which are prone to corrosion are 99% perfect, the only problems being the meat heads at the tyre places not taking car when removing the plastic centre caps so they have a few marks on them but are cheaply replaced.

Car has just flown through its MOT and had a full service, and as of yesterday, had another 6 months tax put on it. Full service history (Ford dealers before I owned it and a mix of Ford and my local garage who I always take my cars to whilst I've owned it).

Looking around at prices, £4750 seems like a decent price for hopefully a quick sale and I'll get it properly washed and valeted before sale. Cars with much higher mileage than this going for about a grand more!

As stated, the car will only be available from the 25th September onwards but viewings are more than welcome before then and I'd be happy to hold the car for a small deposit.

Drop me a mail to dirtscene@btopenworld.com if you want anymore information and/or photos etc.

Cheers

Dave
