Also, bit related, my paint obv isn't the same as it was when the car's new, so if i got it sprayed factory colour, it'd be much darker due to fading. So can companies like, match my colour exactly?

A good bodyshop shouldn't have a problem matching your paint.

shit man, its so tempting to organise some people to sort him out, but then you make yourself liable for things to happen back/cant claim etc.

I'm like 5'4 but like 8.5 stone and I'm pretty sure an angry large man id do no damage to.

depends mate, some places can remove it without damaging paint and youd never know had been dented

There's a good body shop in Larkhall which matched some work I had done to almost exactly the same colour (can only see the difference in certain light) of my car which is various shades of cosmic green anyway. Top job on some bumbers for £150 for both which I thought was a good deal.

annoys me when i hear stories like this, same thing happened to me once - some dick cut me up and i beeped him....he got out giving it the big un and he kicked my bumper.

without thinking i revved it up and dropped the clutch, he had to dive out the way - looking back i could have killed him,

id still do the same today

I think everyone should remember how easy it is to type "Id have fucked him up..." I've played rugby for a fair few years so I'm no stranger to a brawl lol but when a stranger behaves violently out of the blue it would often be a different matter, and would leave most people shaken no matter how big the people are. As for the car, a decent body shop will match the faded colour pretty closely and if your having it resprayed then most dents will be repairable without leaving any trace. Id make sure you go to a good reputable bodyshop though; dont try and save a few quid, if its a bad job you'll only end up getting it re-done.

halfords do colour match pre faded paint, go in there and ask them about it. they dont like to admit they can actually fix cars for cheap so hide it away normally worth asking about tho.

i'd be more embarrased about weighing 7 stone! eat some food ffs! as for your door, buy a second hand one in good nick, same applies for the wing too. find out what colour primer you should use and go to a paint matching company and buy some celly based paint and repaint them yourself. if you want a hand your welcome to pm me, hell if you get the bits i'll paint them for you. your paint wont have faded that much. I've just resprayed the c pillars and the boot on my g40 and you can barely tell.

I am truley shocked by some of these comments! poor lad has had a frightning experience and alot of you can only say "i would do this..i would'v done that".....utter keyboard gangsters! you dont know what you would do in that situation unless you actually lived it!

Prox - sorry to hear about your car, but you did absolutely the right thing staying where you were.

Idiots like this guy are out for a fight. Give them a chance and they'll do more than dent your car. Take his plate, report him to the police and deal with it that way. OK so it's not going to earn you "man points" like getting out and smashing his face in with a breaker bar, but it's better than getting out of the car and putting yourself in danger. It's the civilised thing to do. Metalwork can be repaired or replaced, getting ten shades kicked out of you in the name of saving face isn't worth it.

If he's dragging you out of the car then yes, defend yourself, but why elevate an already unreasonable situation to a level where you're causing more problems than you solve.

You took on a fight and got burned. What did you expect? You shouldn't of flashed,jet alone pull over. You totally got involved so you quite asked for it.
