Funny you mention the ride height, as I did some adjustment this weekend. Having endured the TA Technix springs and shocks for 2 weeks, enough was enough. They managed to magnify every pothole into what seemed to be a canyon and I wasn't happy with how low the front end sat, so off came the suspension again. This time it was a lot easier to take apart though!

Currently sporting TA Technix dampers, Weitec 40mm springs and 10mm lowering top caps up front. Its completely transformed the ride of the car, making it much more forgiving on our great (ahem) roads.

I have to agree. I would get out of it, and look back and it just didnt look right as low as it was. I think its current height is the best compromise. I honestly cant believe how much nicer the ride is!

Another question about the pinstripes. Did you just use a straight Pinstripe and somehow curve/bend it round the rear window or did you find some with that bend already there?

I had a word with my friend who did them for me. He demonstrated how easy thin-ish pinstripes are to bend or curve in anything up to 180 degrees.

The ones used on mine, were just standard off the shelf pinstripes that came with a 3mm wide stripe, and 6mm wide stripe in each colour. My friend threw away the 3mm stripe, laid the 6mm black stripe on first, then followed the line of that with the silver stripe, trying to maintain an even distance. He just had to heat the car and the stripes up first to make sure they adhered well.

Before he laid the stripes on, I discussed with my friend, where they went approximately, and we marked the start, end and distances with some marker on the bodywork before anything was stuck in place.

I'll have a word with him :-). He's based in Nottingham, literally 2 mins walk from my work. All he would need to know is what colour stripes you had fitted. He had mine a couple of hours and it was done.

They like their older stuff there. Whilst my car was in there was a '70s Merc SL, Porsche 928 and a long-term restoration Renault 5 convertible. One of only 11 left in the UK! So their attention to detail is IMO spot on.

I'm currently gathering bits together for a 5 speed conversion. I'm not sure if I'll need a 5 speed flywheel and larger diameter clutch. I've already got the ARB and gear selector. I might also get it detailed and mopped in the coming weeks.

They sit alright up front, but I'm pretty sure on full lock I heard them scrubbing the inner arch. I do have some 25mm spacers I could chuck on the rear, and I think I might just get away without scrubbing with weight in the back.

These aren't the marmite wheels . These were bought for their tyres, so their tyres could go on the marmite wheels. With this being slightly less 'raw' than my Mark3, its not as low either. Circa 50mm with the inclusion of lowering top-caps up front. Its sat arse-down in the pics as its carrying its old wheels.

If I do decide I like them with the proper 6N cengtre caps, I can get them refurbed at work for not a great deal. Was thinking of an anthracite colour. ATM I think the silver makes them look a lot bigger than 14"!

luckily the paint is ever so slightly darker on mine where the pinstripes were, so you can see where to put them still! i would have done it already if it wasnt for the corner on the rear lol

It was that corner round the rear quarter glass that scared me off!

I only had pictures to go off for reference. We ended up grabbing a marker pen and marking distances and start and end points. He pulled it off very well though.

As for the bending. I haven't a clue how its done. He tried to show me, but its a black art! All I will say is, he mentioned the thicker stripes are easier to bend around sharp curves than thin stripes, so really you want 4mm thickness or more.
