Lol!!

Hmm... insurance costs for me, to within £50

All below with Admiral

'91 1.0 mk3 polo @ 17, £800

'90 1.3 Mk2 golf @ 18, £650

'00 1.8 tdi escort @ 18, £700

'89 1.3 polo coupe s @ 19, £450

'98 1.6 saxo vtr @ 19, £550

'91 1.8 16v 318is @ 19, £700

'03 1.6 saxo vtr @ 20, £500

'91 1.8 mk2 golf gti 16v @ 21, £700

With Adrian Flux, the Mk2 16v is now insured for a shade under £500. I've got 3 years no claims and 3 points for a bald tyre. I'm currently in negotiations with Peter Vardy to buy a Corolla T-sport off them, and Adrian Flux have quoted me £430 exactly for it. 3 insurance groups lower than the 16v, with 50 bhp more haha

got a 1.4 mk5

passed my test yesterday, had no quotes for less than £3500,

it's unaffordable.

insured for 10 days till i cancel my policy, then god knows what i'll do :-(

insurance prices are ridiculous mate!

I'm a named driver on my dads policy he uses it during the week and i use it week ends, is that fronting?? Surely it is only fronting if the named driver drives it more than the main, how can it be proved who drives it more?

No, it's not fronting.

Fronting is where you are the named driver but drive it the most in order to get the policy cheaper.

I think it'd be pretty hard to say who drives it more from an insurance point of view. It's your word against theirs at the end of the day...

HTH

I think you guys should shop around a little more, I am 18 with 1 years no claims. I have an admiral multicar policy on that I have a 1.25 Fiesta as my main car which cost much £1400 fully comp and a 1.3 polo coupe which cost me a shade over £500 full comp.

Also I have been looking for a bigger car thats better on the motorway for in a few months time when I have 2 years no claims. Been looking at a 1.8TD Focus and was quoted £1550ish which I really dont think is unreasonable just over £100 a month .

Oh something I did find while messing with the insurance quotes for the focus, was that a newer one can but upto £300 cheaper than an older one. By old and new am talking about the difference from an 08 plate to an 59 plate being £300 for exactly the same car.

Car insurance policies have jumped by an average of £215 in a year fuelled by soaring levels of fraud and dubious whiplash claims, new figures are expected to reveal next week.
