i just slam on my brakes, i dont care i have insurance. and they get it for hitting me, and you just play the good old, whiplash trick, even better if there are more people in the car.

Damn right! Will prove that they should never tailgate a polo  been tempted to do it a few times to be fair, but it always seems to happen when i'm in someone elses car :-(

I've done it a few times.

Done it to a boy in a SAAB last week, he was so close he paniked and braked hard as hell, I heard his tyres scrabble for traction and saw the rear end step out, he tried to flash me but washed his windows instead haha.

He pulled along side me at a set of lights after and threatened to "sort me out" but after 100 yards he turned down another road haha.

Yeah, i ues the old fog light trick. In the end though, if you dont really value your car you could bang the brakes on. If he crashes into you, you not liable. Unfortunately most of us do. I have a massive tow bar hanging off the back of mine. Always fancied seeing what a mess that might make of some of these plastic bumpers....

brilliant

My car pops massive flames. Sorts tailgaters out nicely.

i generally tailgate people to a point but never rediculously, i dont mean to but its just a habit and if people slow down it makes me more determined to get closer :ninja:

*climbs into flame suit*

Its either this or people with small penis syndrome, my girlfriend has a mk2 golf valver and we're going down the motorway the other day at a fair lick, get to the 50 mph bit at the M5/M6 join and three cars we've passed come flying past as though they had to if their life depended on it!

Caught one of those Megane 292 (I think it is, the one with the rollcage in etc.) napping on the lights the other day, did him clean off down to the roundabout 1/2 mile away, where he felt the need to undertake me and almost crash into someone coming around the roundabout, class 1 A grade tool

I think people were out to try to get one over us last week but they ended up just looking like tossers!

I encounter a lot of problems because some people hate being shown up! I think its cos a. I'm female and b. my car is 24 years old yet still quicker than most of the stuff these idiots drive, haha!

:-D

In my old 6n , this guy a in a beamer tailgated me.

I SLAMMED The breaks on in anger (was already angry)

It was so close it was unreal , I think he paniced and slammed his breaks on and stalled it as it was a while before he started moving again :L

Then when he caught me up i slowed to 20 - 25 waited for the trafic lights to go orange and booted it , he got stuck :)

Big smug look on my face....

I have tailgated people before i will admit , Some idiot with a car load decides to overtake and cut me up on the roundabout... ect....

my polo sorts this for me last time i was driving it someone was tailgating me in a corsa heat shield came off my car and fucked up the corsa quite well oh how i laughed best way to sort out tailgaters i find is to slow down let them pass and hock a greenie at there car as it passes that or emergency stops

in my opinion behaving like that makes you worse than the tailgater. same as people who think its funny to slow down untill you ovetake then accelerate. nobish behaviour that is very likely to cause a crash rather than an irriation

thats my 2p

I just tap the brakes to warn them to keep back, don'ts wants them hurtin my car lol

Tailgaters, the closer they get, the slower I go

standard procedure is:

easy off accelerator

wind down window

protude middle finger

allow my mother to window down her window and scream "L means learner you fucking c*nts" whilst nerly having her head severed by a lampost as she is hanging out the window

continue as before

(I'm still learning)

Stick to the speed limit and don't keep looking in your mirror to see how close he is. End of the day you don't wanna bump into another car or knock someone over cause you were to busy eye balling whats going on behind you.

i also tap the brakes to warn off failing the i scrub 10 mph off my speed and progressively slow until they get the picture. roundabouts are brilliant for showing some tailgaters a clean pair of heels i may be in a crusty mk2 polo but i have no fear on the local roundabouts i know and mr baseball cap and whore in the silver barry subaru know that especially as i out-cornered and out-accelerated the idiot as he attempted to overtake me on the exit of a roundabout.

Slighty press your brakes, while hitting the accelerator...

Tailgaters realy piss me off... Il do it for a good enough reason though, like litte Mildrid on a sunday doing 30 in the middle lane of the fucking motorway.

Id never do it a 70 though, theres a grim clip of a truck slamming through a central reservation on a motorway.

one car gets crushed immidiatly, then the tailgater gets a little of the action, then the truck blows up.

Keep slowing down even if it slows to a halt, let him pass then put my police lights on :p

hehehe

people need to chill out with things!!!!

personally i just relax and ignore them....tap my brakes a bit and try and get them to ease off other than that, just let them overtake, dont want them hurting my car!!!
