Who's got the lowest STATIC STANCE?!?!?

Featured Replies

ill get picks up as soon as........... r u ready well i have got a 1997 polo and it is dropped 147mm i have had to cut the chassis at the front for the drive shafts to fit :-( and had to weld metal plate to the bottom of my car because the sub frame bolts are touchin cat eyes when driving.....

askin how  ............. removed the springs and bump stops just rollin on 13" and shocks.handles like its on rails but a bit to bouncy

147mm drop you say?

Can I ask where you are taking your measurements from? As a standard 8v (guess its an 8v if your running 13s) has only 130mm ground clearance from the deck to the lowest point on the car...the bottom of the subframe.

i'm gonna take an educated guess here (taking into account his obvious lack of of intelligence) and say that he has measured the length of the spring and is using that measurement as the amount that the car will be lowered by

Haha!!

Running no springs is just ridiculous? youl probably break your shocks. And probably die.

That aint stance.. just slammed.

come off it

I think scotts looks fucking cool, but I reckon a set of 15's would finish it a treat. Get rid of some of the arch gap around the sides of the arches, as thats the only thing that ruins it imo, just looks odd!

Liked the blue better as well, but thats personal opinion!

arch gap?? must be missing something. his arch gap is nearly the same as mine fully air-ed out

As in theres a massive gap between the vertical bits of the arches and the tyres. Looks a bit odd but can't be helped with small wheels.

but that can't be helped when you lower a car by a considerable amount.

look at the majority of low mk4 golfs. there a classic case of this. but its everyones own opinions and tastes.

personally i think scotts is not only low but well stanced. that tuck upfront and poke at the rear is crazy for static drop. so my stance hat goes off to you sir

6n's/6n2's are bad for it as well, its cos the arches aren't a constant radius, and the rear bumper goes back quite a lot on a 6n. Also the rear wheels naturally move forward the lower you go. My old 6n suffered from it on 14's and that wasn't particularly low:

likin' this thread,

yeh going super low can give more chance of damage, but thats why these cars look sick and there owners deserve serious props!

lol yeah on second thoughts i take that back it does look sick.. but i'm just not in to the whole do everything in you power to be the lowest malarky, i prefer practical lows.

Right, I've just tidied up this thread, getting a bit annoyed with people constantly bitching at each other, yes everyone is entitled to their own opinions but keep ripping on each other and this thread will disappear and bans will be dealt out

those are the OZs i had on mine [ed had them before me], so same specs as what mine were ;)

I wish I could get my MK5 sitting like Ed's, but Ed's skin colour is considerably darker than mine so will never be able to achieve what he did!
