would you consider this to be low? its running 9x15 on the rear ET20 and 8.5x15 ET23 on the front...flared arches and about 1" left of travel on the coilovers. Any lower and i'd need a chassis notch, new sump...

I'm intrigued to see pictures on road opposed to grass. It does look low, but its not sill low. Makes me think twice about getting 15's on my mk5 :(!

That looks absolutely spot on to me ;) Love how it sits on those wheels! Infinitely better than "just another 6n down 120 on me steelies"

I've had to give it atleast some degree of camber on front and rear...i'll try get some pics of it on flat ground, it isn't sill low but without Air, theres no chance it'd be driveable. I could deck it further but i'd be clenching my buttcheeks going down the road lol.

And your not already?! :shock::lol:

Who has a piccy of Timmy plastics mk2 loon? I have some on my old comp, but it's fooked. That was low at polo show '08!

dub price youve done very well considering the fronts are 8.5s

very complete car

I'd like to think I'm the lowest 6n on 15x8s in the uk.

yeah man, i think you pull it off nicely

what've you done to make this so low? Anything specific?

you will soon have competition as soon as i get my 15x8's on at the weekend :p

I love this thread, due to the sheer competition people are putting in

but Scotts polo won, End of tbf

Id hate to drive it round my area (hills and valleys)

absolutely gorgeous car!!!! how come there isnt a build thread or more pics on this ???

am i right in thinking that this is now a 1.6 gti with full interior 6n2 swap???

and i think its low considering the wheel sizes ...though i think you should man up and get rid of that 1 inch of coilover play ;D

Wack stance but my Mk2 is reasonably low , this is how it site on a 90mm kit with 15mm lowering topcaps and dare i say it a coil chopped off the springs on the front coilovers are going on the car before its back on the road .

thanks...i dont really go pic whorring on here as i'm not trying to compete against anyone...i'm trying to get my mate to take some pics of it as he has a proper SLR camera and i wanna get some pics of it before i break it. :crybaby:

u have got a blog though haven't you, that i remember reading a little while ago ?

yeah but its ancient...atleast 1yr or so old and the car has had loads done to it since then.

What i might do is take loads of photos of all the mods and slowly upload one pic each day or week lol. :unibrow:

thats not low atall

give me a couple months, il be lower than scott and on bigger wheels

....

What you guys talkin about wrong fittment?!? That's the fitment i wanted! So the car actually WORKS and HANDLES nice on the track. 165 tyres and big 20mm spacers are no good to me for what it's used for guys.

I wanted:

15x7 et40 wheels all round, with 195/45/15 toyo proxies px4's.

Some 5mm spacers up front to make the track abit wider than the rear so the car would turn in properly.

I put all the camber I could get on the front and corner weighted it.

Notched the chassis so the driveshaft won't hit and lowered the car enough for it to sit right/look good but still have about 50mm road clearance underneath so it won't bottom out before it hits the bump stops.

The car handles awesome, I can be flat out down back lanes without worrying about hittin the floor or bouncing off the road.

No stretch, no massive spacers.

that scots 6n is fucking low...

Edited by McLOVIN

how boring is this

The silver one? Its not that low really, my 6n was about as low and that was higher than some cars I've seen. That blue one is fucking low though.

It sits low on the wheels it's on though.

Yeah I'm not disputing that, thats probably one of the lowest 6n2's on 16's and it looks amazing. However, It should be sill height measured seeing as its "whos got the lowest static stance"

It's all about measuring top of the arch to ground.

sills and arches mean nothing, it's all about the gap between the floor and major steering/suspension components. any one could put skirts, spliters or arch extensions on a car to make it 'look' low, and as mentioned different car's have different height wheel arches and sills making measuring them irrelevant. one thing that can't be disputed is if your sub frame is kissing the floor, your fucking low, even if your sill's don't look like it
