No sidelights with HID kit, goes straight to dip beam

Can anyone help, please

Took my polo 6n for mot this week, it failed because it has no side lights, when the switch is turned to the sidelight position the lights go straight to dipped beam and there is no difference to the lights when the switch is turned to dipped beam position.

As i bought the car with the HID's already fitted I'm unsure how the lights/kit has been wired and fitted etc, as i dont have much of a clue when it comes to wiring.

Can anyone help with a quick rectification for this or do i have to take the kit off and go back to the standard wiring?
