Was going to just get a decat pipe for my little bread van but this looks more interesting.

Just wondering about the lambda sensor though. Would I need someone who can modify stainless exhausts to fit it?

Do you (or anyone) know if a 1992 polo uses a ceramic or planar style sensor?

If it's the old one, would adding a more efficient post 1998 one work or would there be calibration problems.

If I can figure out how to fit the lambda without too much cost I think I'll take your mani, man. :)

I have no idea which style Lambda they use, But I have never heard of anyone using a newer style one? The original one will suffice, I would presume anything other than original would throw up issues with the ECU.

You can take the manifold to any exhaust place which do stainless steel (most commonly Longlife, Powerflow etc). I took mine to Longlife in Leeds who fitted a lambda boss in under 5 mins, It actually took longer for the metal to cool down than actually welding the boss on. They did it for me whilst I waited and it only cost £10.

I've just looked on euro car parts for a shiny new sensor to go with the shiny new manifold. £75.20!!! ouch. According to the ETKA program there are different sensors for the CAT and NonCAT versions. Hmmm I could be getting in over my head but it is SOOO shiney.

I also need to make sure I can get help from my mates who are better under the hood than me before I commit to buy. I wouldn't want to get it then have it sat in the corner for ages. I'll let you know.
