sidestrips and carpet help?

hi

i was wondering how you remove the sidestrips in a 6n?? i don't know if sidestrips is the right word

but i mean the grey plastic edging between the carpet and the black rubber door seals? :?:

I lifted part of it up to look under, and i can see some sort of clips that the carpet hooks onto?

can i just pull these sidestrips out and then reclip them after??? i need to run some cables to the rear

and this would make it much easier as existing wiring is already running under the carpet :-)
