Well I've got the idea in my head and it's gotta happen I'm going to machine the bell housing next week at work to allow for the adapter plates to fit the box securely then the last major things are mounting the rear diff and rear suspension and also shortening the propshaft for the shorter polo chassis obviously

Its happening and I want to get it done now so I can drive it and may just get it working on the standard injection for a start while I sort everything for the turbo

Yeah it would be a good idea to do it in stages, that way your not trying to sort teething problems out on a few different major mods all at the same time. This is gonna be fucking mental when its done

I can't bloody wait to drive it and let me know if you have any spare bits to get my engine back on original management please Guy I think I have half an inlet manifold that's bout it lol

Off the top of my head I've got a fuel rail but only 2 good injectors, I've got pretty much a full late spec loom. Iirc I've also got a immob setup and matching ecu but the ecu had a fault where it wouldn't spark, might be an easy fix to some one that knows about that sort of shit and you can have it for free if you want it cause i'll never get the fucker fixed. I'll have to have a hunt about and see if I have anything else

That would be amazing thanks Guy and I run my spark off a switch anyway just need the ecu for fueling side of things really. I did read something earlier bout a guy who got an afh running on gt management may have to have a look at that too as it can be remapped can't it.

Ben I will be wanting £150 for the rear disc setup and if I can get dimensions il make the brake adapter sleeves then all that will be needed is handbrake cables to fit it and need to get car in garage first as don't want it on the drive on axle stands Will let you know when I can get it all off

And the engine bay doesn't look like tht anymore as the carb conversions been sold so putting it back on standard management of some sort for now to test the 4wd when it's done

Shit totally forgot about this just been busy as fuck and not even had a chance to do much on my own cars recently. I'll have a good sort out either tomorrow or sat and let you know exactly what I have mate

It's cool Guy yeah if you could look an let me know means I can get that sorted quicker and think I'm gunna see if I can run standard management with my new throttle bodies il make an air box for them and put a maf or afm meter on the inlet to it that way it should be able to adapt for the bodies :)

Il post a pic tomoz of my new itbs and going to try and make a manifold next week for them while I'm also sorting the new rear suspension mountings

My new hydraulic tube bender also turned up cant wait to use it this weekend it looks pretty rad will also post a pic tomoz too :)

you can switch itt 180 degrees aslong as u switch the leads too. makes no difference :)

i had mine the same way as yours but i was fouling on the thermostat housing so i switched it the same way as petes. just means i cant put the afh dizzy cover on which is a shame

right more of an update as its good weather lately I'm getting more done

rear diff and driveshafts laid out at back for width comparison

back of the car stripped out

rollcage rear boot roof supports (not fully in right place yet just trial.

these top bits will be welded to the bent corner bits on the main hoop

rear roof bar mount bottom in boot (will be boring a hole in some 3mm thick plate and welding it over this hole i will then put the tube in the hole and weld it to the strenghthened plate)

i also nitromorsed the paint off the roll cage mouting points ready to weld as its easier than sanding and grinding them clean and also leaves a better thicker surface to weld to.

thats all for tonight need to machine some bits tomorrow at work then can carry on tomoz night unless i feel like riding

air ride setup I've started to collect

just need to get the airbags which i have already sourced just need to buy

and the valves and dont know whether to get two 3 way valves or four single way valves at the moment just for front/back adjustment eventually i want fbss but il sorta do it in stages so if anyone can help me get some cheap air solenoid valves i will be mega happy. also need to work out how I'm plumbing it in too

will hopefully be properly welding the roll cage in over this easter bank holiday weekend then i can start sorting everything else for the rear wheel drive as it works off the frame tbh

i was going to van panel it but make them smooth into the body work so all the sides were flush but not sure yet as its going to be a track and drag weapon and mainly for shows now i have my daily i think i may just polycarb all the windows so you can see in properly as the whole idea of spraying the windows in the first place was so people couldnt see my bmx in the back but it wont really be going in here now anyways

so more than likely polycarb windows all round to save weight from all the excess I'm adding in more updates this coming weekend with 5 days off work yayahhhhh

I dont think i have over looked these things, I may have some things but il work them out when I get to it

The gearbox adaptor plate is pretty straight forward I'm going to skim 8-10mm off some parts of the bell housing and use 8-10mm mild steel plate to match rather than ally plate as it will be stronger and as you can see from pictures above the gbox fits to block as I have a spare block to work with.

For the rear suspension I'm using mk1 golf front hubs and coilies and then also using adjustable rose jointed tcas and compression struts and I'm using mk1 golf top mounts at the top and mounting and bracing it all off the roll cage so that will be the structural part

Rear brakes I'm using mk4 golf rear calipers and will fit them using an adapter if need be to the golf hubs

I know your trying to help Kiz just seems you are trying to shoot me down I have really looked into this alot nearly everyday tbh at different things and checking things over with people, researching on the net.

As soon as I got enough of the info I needed to see if this would work that's whn I decided to do it as it hadn't really been done before and now the polo isn't my daily I wanted to prove all the people wrong that said it couldn't be done or wouldn't be worth it as to me it is worth it an I know it can be done
