Good weather (still) over the last few weeks means I've gotten the boards on the roof now. This will in time be covered in corrugated steel but for now it's reasonably water proof until I can get hol

Yep it was.

And the audio is being sound proofed with professional music studio gear to account for the thin wood. Fuck the internet!!!

Ordered the last (I hope) remaining things for the brakes yday including some brackets, new pipes (having a mare with the goodridge hoses!) and clips.

Higgo, your on!

Stop fucking around with unimportant things such as brakes and get some miles on the engine!

So brakes are nearly there! Hopefully have some new HEL ones delivered early this week, meaning I can fit them next week. Flexi has been modified to reduce the restriction the previous design had. So all looking good!

Pictures from today showing the brake fluid reservoir bracket

First up, the reservoirs on their individual brackets. Ebay bargain of 5 bob each

Then the bracket that will hold them just above the MC

Just need to dress it a little and give it a lick of black paint

Engine fired up today aswell. Its been stood for a week, so there's always a little bit of concern. No need though as once the pump had 'primed' she was up and running, slightly better than last week to. Probably due to the warmer weather.

Lame question though, wehere do i fill the gearbox oil from? Have done it once, but was out the car. I know the mk2 boxes fill from the back, but my 'key' wont fit that socket, but does fit one on the front of the gearbox. Do they fill from the same place and i have the wrong key, or is it from the front, and i do have the correct 'key'

Is it an 085 box?

  • Author

Yeah, from an aee. I'm sure I'm being a spaz!

sounding good man!

  • Author

I haven't read it no. Surely I'm being an uber mong though, as I have filled it once before :retard:

Ok, just read that thread. The first post is epic! It seems i was trying to get the hex key that situated anticlockwise of the actual one, hence the key wouldn't fit. Knew it was that way somewhere

Noice!

New HEL lines came yesterday. Can't wait to get them fitted with that bracket. Can anyone recomend brake fluid? Preferably non-corrosive, but I don't want to be changing it regularly.

Also started on a covert head unit :ninja:

Some form of old audio thing?

I sent inertia switch dude, seemed to take a bit less force to break the circuit then mine, if it's an issue when you're driving let me know & I'll find another

  • Author

It is an old stereo. But what will it become?

Pressure switch should be ok, seems that it's a forward jolt that brakes the circuit, not up/down

Finished the wiring in the bay yesterday. Hope i have the wires in the fan/thermo switch in the right way. Fuel pump was making a hell of a ticking yesterday, as if there's not enough fuel coming through. In fact, the filter wasn't filling up, but it can't be due to a lack of fuel. She's at a bit of a funny angle atm, so that might be why.

Started work on the wheels today. Tyres off, and paint being stripped. Will put pics up when comlete. Also did a bit of polishing too rocker cover (pics when complete) and these cheeky beauties
