Good weather (still) over the last few weeks means I've gotten the boards on the roof now. This will in time be covered in corrugated steel but for now it's reasonably water proof until I can get hol

I've only seen a picture of a girl in Eric's car. I don't know she wasn't there under duress :?

He drugged her a few years ago now, bless: she knows no better

Bit of work done on the wheels then. I stripped these back in the easter holidays, and have been working on them a bit since, between other jobs. Won't give away the details but I'm sure you can work out the general look I'm going for

These are by no means finished. In fact only 2 are in this state. Thank god for the DA air sander, or else i would be here until this time next year. Fingers are sore enough from doing some of the detailed areas

Too bloody wet yesterday. Brakes need bleeding, but its a little pointless if the system gets filled with water. Then I need to finish these wheels or else there's nothing for it to roll on yo! She's on the way though

I'm looking forward to see this in the flesh - an ill park far away from it as my project is rubbish in comparison. Nice work mate, great details.

its been like a year & youve not bled brakes???

A year? I only just got the reservoirs on last week!

Wheels were done in the garage Ben, but the wings are currently protecting the inner wings as it hammers down. Going to try and put a few hours in after workk this week.

RetroDub - yours has the benefit of a respray, and is a nice little project too

I know, it just didnt look right, having her undressed on my drive! Wheels just take time. Best part of 5hours on a wheel yesterday to get it to that state :-(

I honestly wouldn't polish them yourself dude. Get a company to do it or get them powdercoated.

I've had a go on one of them Max, and got a finish I'm happy with. The DA sander works really well, and I have nearly a dozen grades to get through as well as some cutting compound and a wheel. I'll be painting in the recesses of the wheels to save some arse ache and to tie them in with the car. Hoping to down size wheels to my revo 13" sometime, so i doubt these will be on for too long!

Car's moved away from practical now i guess as the 9n does daily duties (sound system has been rethought too you'll be glad to hear  ). I have the revo's already, so I'll see what they look like. Though it will mean downgrading on brake sizes. A plan has been hatched to get the max from them though. ]

Although this isn't even on the road yet, I have plans for an overhaul for front and rear brakes and the engine. As well as a respray

It wont be going too low with the stage 3 on.

80/60

  • Author

I cant. 60 is the lowest without the subby making constant contact. I have a set of lowering caps too that should lower another 10mm but keep the subby from the floor

owwwwwwwwwwww :(

i reckon ronal turbos would look awesome on this. 15x7 so you could get rid of arch gap and have clearance?

hahahaha if your struggling to polish them alloys in the little grooves you are going to have to pull your finger out on the engine bay stuff. no pressure here mate now the gauntlet has been set!

water marks on polished things are the worst

But who says I'm polishing everything in my engine bay  I wanted to colour code the wheels too, so its worked out well

Ronal Turbos are ok, just not my thing for this, not motorsport enough. I want a classic style of wheel. I saw a set of wheels that I liked on retrorides, but I can't remember the name of them :?

Woha! I'm going to stick with the castelettes for now. But I have put up a wheel picture thread in photo section, so add pictures of wheels.

Some of the compomotives are nice, like the bottle top design. Dish is fine, just looking for a classic style that fits the period. Equally, flat faced are cool, like those classic beetle race wheels (think they were splits, but can't remember it the names :retard: )

  • Author

Bit better at that yeah! Wheels all look the same, round and stuff :retard::lol:

but you still get different coloured ones, and some are an absolute pain to work with yet others just get on and do as they're supposed to? some shine whereas others are a bit dull

Whose been on the philosophy hype then?
