Any way, bike pumps for the win! Got mine connected up today, despite it sounding broken it seems to be fuelling bob on. No cutting out like last week or previous weeks. Would recommend this over the facet any day purely for ease.

I've never heard of anyone having the problems you've described with the facet, but i'm glad you've finally sorted it!

Maybe it was a duff facet pump? they're diaphragms are susceptible to failure if the process liquid isn't filtered properly...

They're not designed to pump water, it starts to corrode the internals.

Regarding the water, we use the pumps on our kit at ITM, and have found that if the process fluid contains water, the pumps begin to corrode and lock up.

So it's running right now? Get it MOT'd and let us all have a proper look then!

I think the facet was fine, it was just the way I had it plumbed in. But yeah, it seems to be running fine. A trip to the MOT is the next thing, so hopefully it will get me there and I'll know for certain if its a runner. Ran the best it ever has yesterday. Brakes probably need bleeding more as they are still a little spongy and I still can't seem to lock them up, even with 256s and rear discs Then I'll open her up and start the respray preperation

You got new discs and pads?

I'd go easy driving mate, just for a couple of hundred miles, lighter loads and such then do an oil and filter change :)

Are you going to invest in a wide band still?

There's a Gunson Ezibleed in the back of my polo you can borrow if you want?

Max, no pictures atm, as she looks pretty sorry for herself. Paintwork is fucked and she's leaking again. Thought I had that sorted. Going to do brakes again this weekend and then hopefully the MOT next. Drive her around for a bit whilst I clear the painting area (providing I'm still able to use it). Going to prep body work aswell so I can roll her in and get her done over a week/weekend. Got Xmas holidays and the best part of 3 weeks off coming up! Also need to get a little bit of arch work done. It didn't rub with just me in it, but my dad came for a run up the road the other day and it was scrubbing a bit. Also a small hole has developed in the floor on the passenger side. Sure becuase it's been sat in a damp area in the shade for a few years.

Nick, a wide band may be a later addition. I'll need to have the exhaust off to weld the boss in, so when the engines next out it's something I'll look at.

Over a year. I have most of the bits for the ABD turbo but the engine needs rebuilding and I want to detail/paint it to a higher caliber than the current one. The GK cam I have is in the mech head I plan to use. How come? I'm not 100% it's even a GK tbh. The lad said he would put it in the head he sold me, but it didn't look like the cam had been taken out, meaning he hadn't put it in. I'll need to check part numbers

Think hes got KW dampers and some other lowering springs, not 100%, i did know once upon a time haha! I know hes got Bonarth lowering top mounts up front though.

KW shocks and springs, -60mm. Poly (and apparently -10mm lowering *sic* ) camber adjustable top mounts. PPS stage 3 subfrrame too so can't go any lower. Not that I aim to.

Ah cool. I thought youd be undertaking the FI project later than that. I guess ill be half way through mine at the point, uni and social life are more important at the minute so I've been slacking.

I haven't planned a huge amount, and I'll build it up over next year. When it's ready to go in then it'll go in. Lots to sort out, so it may not be for another while. Nice. I've just emailed a place about getting a set of bigger valve seats pressed in, and a regrind of one of my mechanical head cams (HK) so if they come back with a decent price, i'll see what they say about doing two of them, and you could send yours up?

Nah, they're a hardened steel ring that pressed into the head, then cylindrically ground to match the valve, using the guide to centre.

Just took a photo for you. Can see the different materials better there. Its not just a case of getting a new seat ground in, though, if the valve seat diameter is only marginally bigger, i assume they may be able to open up the original seat, instead of putting a new one in all together...

This seat has just been re-ground, and is awaiting lapping.
