'Carefully remove the retaining clips'

Hi guys,

I'm trying to change the pollen filter on my 6n. I've got the Haynes manual and had a look online but nowhere does it describe the method needed to remove the retaining clips from the cowl panel.

I've given it a go with the screw driver but it looks like they need more of a twisting motion to get them out.

So, how the hell is it done!? Everywhere says this is a simple task!!

got one out, but not before I snapped a bit off the top which made things easier. Now I see why these things are so awkward!!

need a little stash of them so I can just snap them out & use fresh ones!!
