Center exit exhausts on MK1-3

Featured Replies

Dont think I've ever seen a center exit on a MK3...

And was toying with the idea of using a bike can for one.

Anybody know of any polos running a center exit zaust?

Also, I'll ask this in here to save starting another thread. Are there any problems I'm likely to come across if i attempt this? Other than the spare wheel well being slightly in the way?

i was just about to create the same thread.

I'm doing it, might be using a rc-40 back box from a mini as they're centre exit, and pretty small.

If not I'm just gonna cut and weld the original exhaust up and have it exit in the centre of the car, maybe an upswept?

Only problem i can think of is that theres not much space, so might be pretty low.

Fuck you!

My idea!

lmaooo!

PM incoming ;)

You'll have to do something with the spare wheel well and you would have to bring it all the way round the tank as well which could mean a really tight bend..

There was a car that was at the G Werks Open Day a few years back with the plate G40 HAH (Grey) that had a twin centre exit jobby.

Can't find any pictures at the moment.

only way i found to do it was to run no backbox and bend the pipe around the wheel well

One of the Haug motorsport rally polos has one.

Bet that has had the wheel well cut out completely.

Looks pretty sick though.

Something like this also sprung to mind

But having it coming from the normal exhaust exit, sat underneath the bumper and hanging exactly central.

Or having the tip of the exhuast bang in the middle and the rest of the can to the left.

As theres plenty of room under a MK3 bumper as there so damn high.

If you check out 'alldubs' old build thread... he cut out the spare wheel well and welded a plate in... would have to do that i think!

For some stupid reason, its not letting me search for him?

Normally you can do a blank search just using there name and there posts come up, but its not finding anything :?

If i search for you Jon, it works.. but not for alldubs.

Surely it would find him even if hes deleted or whatever?

you could exhange the middle silencer for a long oval type backbox, to keep noise down.

Thats ben91 old car, pm him and ask if he has any more info on it

I've just been looking at fletcher mini exhaust center exit for my polo but i think it wunt look right only minis suit it

I don't like the one above, Don't think it suites polo's.

However I'm liking the white mini above it, Probably end up doing something like that.

Also thinking about doing a single middle exit up-swept , both pretty mini like.

lupo sport comes to mind.

Yeah suites the lupo, Not feeling the twin exit on the polo.

Love the single exit on t'other one.

there's also a mk2 coupe on here with twin upswept center exit, looks cool as fuck. Can't be assed to find it though, saw it over a year ago

I've got something that may be right up your street, Toby. PM me.
