FINALLY got the engine in and now mounted on its own weight :) just need to do the Dogbone mount one day next week and then I can crack on with the wiring, linkage, pedla box etc....

Put one the of wings back on to see how the bonnet would sit

Space between Throttle Body and Bonnet - I have about 2mm gap so got it pretty perfect!

Downpipe being delivered Monday, Brand New Turbo will be ordered next week too and got a Hydraulic Pedal box from a Lupo tdi coming next week as well

Ah more pictures you sneaky bitch! lol looks good man but personally i think once you sort the dogbone mount out youll realize that you can tilt the engine forward more and raise it up an inch as the plenum will be further forward giving more clearance. i just think it sits too straight but still it look mint man i may be wrong......

Haha :p yeah hopefully, I am going to have a mess about with the dogbone and see if I can try make the inlet drop down a bit more and then raise it up :)

Bit worrying at how much of the chassis leg you have cut away....I'm presuming your plating that back up and continuing to smooth the bay. I really hope this works because youve been hit with nothing but bad luck and itd be nice to see it come good for you =D

There isn't any info or pics really of how others sit with the front end off.....

I will see how I get on and possibly raise it a bit if it causes me problems :)

Lol it worried me too but don't worry I've welded the hole thing up now and just have a small cut out for the gearbox :) now the engine is in, I'm concentrating on getting the bay back up to standard and basically re-doing the whole drivers side now.

It's from Qpeng and is made for a MK2 golf/MK2 Ibiza which are the same sort of platform as the polo so hopefully should be okay, if not will chop and get it Re-welded :) I'll let you know how it goes!

No lol it's tig welded, As Harris.Racing said it wouldnt last as long brazed. You can brace exhausts but welding is much better :)

So I had to make a few adjustments to the Lupo Tdi Pedalbox which was Fly by wire and i needed it to be cable so first I took off the throttle pedal and fly by wire unit from the pedal box then grinded off the bracket which holdsthe fly by wire unit in place.

Then you needed to move the part which holds the cable (Believe this was universal on the pedal box - Was only 1 inch out of place) so simply chopped off and re-welded in place. Job done for the pedal box and it fits perfect :)

Some work was needed on the gearbox so a good mate of mine took on the job of cleaning it, sanding it down etc and then putting it in high build primer for me :)

Going to Colour match this weekend to pickup the paint for the engine bay and also choose a colour for the gearbox and engine mounts

Went down to Colour match on Saturday and had hundreds of different colours around the 'Shade' I was looking for so it was a hard choice :(

Anyway I went for a Audi Pearl Grey Colour for the gearbox and engine mounts :)

The pics of the gearbox just dont do it justice, my mate done a really good job considering how greasy etc this gearbox was at the start! If anyone is interested in some bodywork, painting or smoothing give me a shout as me and my mate can do very good rates :)

Also got some paint for the engine bay too - looking to have it painted and the engine fitted for its final time by end of Feb
