  • Slight update.....it is now fully MOT'd, taxed and insured as of Saturday morning. I've been driving it the past 2 days with no problems apart from the boost hose that clamps on the turbo likes to pop

  • Picked it up yesterday, It's an animal - Pics and videos to follow over the weekend

  • Yeah I'll be there haha

So been working pretty much all the time on this recently and got some good updates (No many pics though unfortunately)

- Mk2 Qpeng downpipe has been chopped up and re-welded (Fits the polo perfect now!)

- One boost pipe routed and all sorted (Still need to do the other)

- Skeleton of the dash is in and the interior loom all in place

- Wheels are finished :D just need to buy some rubber for them!

- Started fitting the 6n2 rear door cards along with all the plastics etc in the rear

- Intercooler is now mounted on the front slam panel

- Heater pipes are connected up

- Fuel hoses all done

- Custom Driveshafts have been fitted too :) (Driveshafts UK)

I'm gonna have to change mine to a 2.0TFSI jobby then!

Not a chance of that 20vt's are proven through and through so there definetley worth doing, i dont mind that theres loads about there all special in there own way ;)

Harry - What power are you hoping to see or is it a guessing game? Can't wait to see it and you rolling about mate. I'm looking at the start of June for mine to be done... so we'll definetley have to have a meet up some place ;)

And yeah I'm gonna make the most of this holiday! Even if it is with the mrs but all inclusive makes it worth while!

Chow!

Yeah man, i've got an engine i've put a deposit on. Should be good.. K03s, fmic and pipework, already mapped ecu (unsure on power, will find out) 3"downpipe and decat, comes with ibiza cupra box and comes with a loom...

I'm under the impression, you can use Ibiza shafts and hubs in order to stay 4stud and not have to get custom shafts? Do any of you/the rest of the 1.8T boys who read this, know any truth on it?

Depends where you position the engine and gearbox in the bay...obviously if you shift everything towards to the gearbox side then you will need different length shafts. Theres various ways to do it to avoid having custom shafts made, one would be to use Golf mk3 or Audi shafts and use these to position it all in the bay, then cut the chassis legs up to fit or you can friction weld your own shafts.

Personally, i'd have a set made up...Beresford Engineering made ours and it cost £300 for a pair i believe but you have to remove and refit the CV's...we decided to go for Polo GTI outer CV's and 100mm Golf 16v inners.

It depends on the gearbox flange size you have.

Yeah what DubbPrice said ^^

I got my driveshafts made by Driveshafts Uk for 330 incl Vat....basically a standard polo spline on one end to go into the hub and the other is a 100mm flange which matches the gearbox I'm using :)

Really depends what gearbox your using and how it's positioned in the bay. I measured up my standard shafts once the engine was in and the drivers side was about 10cm too short and the passenger one 10cm too long so had to compensate it each side :)

Alrite Harry!

I thought it would be easier to post here, rather than clog up my for sale thread.

Your rides looking really awesome mann! Seems not too far off completion now and I bet you cant wait eh!

Dropped the Polo off to its' new owner on wednesday. Gona miss it but its about time I got a new project. :smirk:.

Pretty set on an e46 now I think, the insurance on a Hooooooonda was just maddness so I think Ill wait a while to own a vtec screamer.

You still got the same digits? When I have my new car I'll pop up and have a look at your monster mann

We need new progress pics of this!!!

all you people building 20vt polos while I'm driving around in the A3 make me miss having a heavily modified car so much so that I'm modding the A3 lol wont be as quick as yours due to power/weight ratio but I haven't had half as much hassle getting a 1.8T lol
