Featured Replies

I'm loving the colour of this mate.

Looking smart too, looks lush with it's current stance.

Where'd you get your de-wipered back plate?

  • Slight update.....it is now fully MOT'd, taxed and insured as of Saturday morning. I've been driving it the past 2 days with no problems apart from the boost hose that clamps on the turbo likes to pop

  • Picked it up yesterday, It's an animal - Pics and videos to follow over the weekend

  • Yeah I'll be there haha

Thanks a lot :)

The de-wiper blank I made myself before it went in bodyshop, basically sanded down and plastic welded a piece in and then fibreglass on the tiny bits to make it flush.

Then got it painted with the car :)

Updates - As some of you may know, I've had some problems with the car recently. Basically the Injectors were not getting any mpower :(

I replaced almost everything with no luck and finally towed the car home last weekend.

Instead of fixing the problem, its off the road until next show season now :( but Major plans & PICS to follow :)

My daily is a BMW E36 318 with some drift videos to come

P.S. The MK3 Heated Leather Interior is for Sale!

in my opinion you should get the standard front number plate and hang it in the middle lower position on the middle bumper grill slightly lower but sitting just above the splitter if you know what i mean... will give more subtle and smoothed looks due to smoothed bumper otherwise no point getting the bumper smooth and fixing the plate right next to the recess with bolts.. just my opinion...

Cheers for the comment :) I was going to put it there but that's were everyone puts there plate so wanted somewhere different.

UPDATE - Pictures to come Later tonight/tomorrow. It's off the road at the moment and I've been busy :)

So today I de-greased the engine bay, jet washed it to make sure it was clean enough to start to some smoothing.

AND Destroyed my driveway while doing it!! Haha

I will let the pictures to the talking :p

The next step is to finish off the Drivers side with a few more bits and then I will crack on with the Passenger side.

Me and my mate have never welded before, so to be honest I think we both did a good job :)

Cheers

good effort, All I'd say is make sure your grinding your welds back as you go along. You'll need to keep checking that theres no pin holes or that the welds are ground off and simply leave the plate you have just welded in not connected any more... If you understand :)

Oh and I've always found it easier to strip EVERYTHING out the bay just for ease with checking that your keeping your lines of the new pannels ant patches in keeping and straight :)

Just a tip mate

Wombat,

^^ Thanks for the comments and advice :) much appreciated!

I have now grinder off the welds properly so some more pictures to follow soon!

I understand what you meN about stripping it properly so I can follow the lines of the bay etc. I think that's next on the list of jobs before I go any further :D

Cheers

Harry

P.S. Lost an engine on eBay yesterday, went for really cheap and I missed out :(

So tonight i stripped out more of the Interior (Rear door cards etc) and have got 90% of the Interior Wiring Loom out now ready for the 6n2 wiring loom to take its place :)

Was too dark to take any pics though :(

Good lad I've done the same as you recently with putting in the 6n2 loom soo much easier with the dash and engine ;) lol

Cheers :) I was hoping someone would say that lol! I'm keeping the 6n2 dash but won't be running the 6n2 engine.

Love your car! When will it first be out? Next year now?

Right so spent half a day on the polo doing some bits a pieces today:

I mainly starting taken out a lot of the wiring since I am swapping this for the 6n2 loom so I can run the dash etc properly :)

80% of it is it so far, just need to take the loom out the doors and the 2 rear number plate connections seem to be stuck and I cant get to them or get the holders out the bumper :( and dont want to damage it while doing it so will take the bumper off tomorrow and get it out that way.

Haha lol :p yeah I read the reviews from the guy and saw a lot of complaints about sending wrong items I was just hoping didn't happen to me! Lol at least the theme kind of goes with your bay :) did they send you the right ones in the end?

Yeah they don't look the best quality but hopefully do the job! Let me know if you have any problems with yours cos I will upgrade mine.

When is your going to be done? Want to see this in the flesh!! :D
