dubweeler - its just the rear thats wider on passengers bout 5mm...

I need a day of work! orange rear lights and a 2 1/4" straight through G40 system to go on then last few carpet trims... hopefully boost is not too far off... gasket set, clutch, water pump and charger rebuild to do n its ready to rock!!!

Dubwheeler - yeah they are rallye specials I believe 13*8's are ET 0 they sit perfectly with a 175/50 on the drivers side but passengers is wider on mk2F's so sit slightly out of the arch...

B-Shaw - the rears are but I was running 8's&6's on the black G. but now running 7's&8's on bluey n 6&7's on the black G... till I can afford something a little more special for it!

this is going to sound really silly and noobish .. but are you putting a G40 lump in it , or are you going to put the charger on the 1l 4speed ? ,

Bluey has had lots of service bits, sensors, exhaust and a lambada fitted... running much happier... the black G40 is about to get underway so Bluey's not too far off!

Its a full G40 conversion going in... but i'm not allowed to keep engine blocks in my lounge so no pics... haha!

Ok so time for an update it has been over 3 months since I picked up this little beast!

So first of all I fitted coilies on the rear about a month ago... and that was about it other than service parts to keep the sewing machin ticking over...

Decided to give Bluey a big attack this weekend with the help of Yousnack Nabi (aka clungeisred) Massive Props to Saf as always for a 6am mission!!!

So list of works for the weekend read as follows;

- G40 engine* (spec below) (VAG Cambelt and Water Pump fitted before dropping it in)

- G40 Rose Jointed Steering Arms

- G40 Steering Damper

- G40 ARB (with polybushes)

- Wheel Bearings

- Top Mounts (note in pics below now sitting flush to turrets... we'l see how long that lasts!)

- Replace Struts/Dampers swap springs

So... 1litre SPI out...

Then Saf fell asleep doing the ARB bolts and all hell broke loose as the Lithuanian House Goat emerged from the darkness and escaped in to the night...

The goat escaping TWICE is my excuse for not getting it running at the weekend but should be roaring this eve all being welll... hit a few unexpected snagging points on the loom and gear linkage...

Eninge spec is as follows;

- G40 Lump

- Ported Charger

- GT Inlet

- De-Wedged Throttle Body

- 4 Branch Manifold

- 65mm PSD Pulley and Chip

Fairly mild for now but the intention is to turbo just got bored of 1litre'ing and had everything I needed to get it running as a G!

Future plans include;

- Sub Frame (got one but having a little work done to amend!)

- G40 arch and trim set (got but not fitted)

- Brakes - G40's (all sourced - but again being fitted in the next attack)

- BRV

- A healthy portion of slam

- Turbo (as and when - got my other G40 to finish before that happens)

yeah alex it was dedication to the cause, he had been mithering for days, we did some google mapping, drove down there, left a note, went back the next day cos it had been an epic storm the day before, mithered the neighbours, found the owner and the rest was history!
