If a scam man is selling things for £50-100.

He won't be arsed about putting in a false address that costs him a fiver to do. People will be then ever more trusting, which we all know is not a good thing, in future.

i just meant that if you look at it from the other side (of the scammer) he made some pretty blatant fuck up's, we've all seen it on here in the past when one user has scammed hundreds, if not thousands of pounds before being sussed out, this dip shit has been busted pretty much straight away

The general public does not have common sense.. Thats the issue here. With a 200 minimum post count, we can get to know the user before we buy, obviously it'll be easier to spot a scammer due to their activity. It'll only be newbies who complain, but as far as I'm concerned they don't have the right until they have contributed to the community. IMO this NEEDS to be done. It's happening far too frequently, I knew what I was getting in for, but a lot of noobs don't and they fall straight into the trap. Once the initial uproar has calmed down people will forget about it in week and will have moved on to a new complaint about the forum.

I knew this was dodgy from the start, but with his good rapport, general know how and speed of what he was doing and along with the fact I paid via paypal, I took the risk. It didn't pay out. Meh.. Live and learn I suppose.

I just really feel sorry for the guy who paid via a gift.

So true... But they all do.. It just gets hidden. People suspect, but don't talk, it's only when it's too late that they talk and by that point the guy has been and gone, as are all the hidden warnings.

I felt really bad making it public only 2 days after payment, but things didn't add up. As soon as it was made public every ones suspicions came to light. Quite frankly I'm a fucking hero and I deserve a medal, or even a blowie... Any takers?

Maybe keeping sale information public is an idea? That way everyone can see what is going on and see particular trends with sellers/buyers? Only use PM's for payment info?

i dont think the 200 post rules any good for this forum really, if i was selling something like i dno wheels, id stick them up on edition, wheel whores, polo3 and all sorts of similar forums, none of which i have anywhere near 200 posts, what I'm trying to say is this forum will loose alot of users, and like saf said could miss out on some old lady bargains, we all love old lady bargains.

your not going to be able to stop the good scammers using forums, its easy to spot dipshits like this but not ones like that guy that loads of people got scammed by before?i forget his name i think he was from derby and he got sent down then got out and started again, a few on here and gti forum got done by him. as said above people just need to use there common sense i bought some wheels last year and the guy asked me to paypal gift him the money and hed send them me, it would have saved me the 2 hour drive and petrol money but its not worth the risk.
