so it's doing it more on one side than the other... looks like it's something to do with the shaft then.

If you jack up one side only and run the car in gear, it will drive through the diff and is quite likely to sound rough and jerky, as it attempts to drive on both sides. When you have both sides in the air, one side is likely to have more mechanical resistance than the other, in which case, again, it will only drive on one side, with the other side 'joining in' every now and again, once more giving the impression of roughness.

Are there are any wear marks on the splines of the driveshaft to indicate that it perhaps wasn't seated properly? Is the car lowered excessively? And did you possibly hit a kerb or pothole quite hard recently?

Have got another driveshaft on the way so i'm hoping this will solve the problem!

Anyone know whether or not the driveshaft could cause the car to snake/swerve when driving?? quite badly i must say!! If i was to let go of the wheel the car would go off the road....or would this be related to something else?
