Polo 6n - JDM Whore.. Takatas, Brides, GTI CONVERTION

Featured Replies

Hey all,,

Thought I would create a post to show you the progress of my 6n Polo as i mod it.

I am 17 and this is my first car. The idea for my project is to create a unique and one-off showcar, but on a budget. The cars exterior shall be completed first, then shall be followed by the interior once i have the funds to continue the build.

I bought it about April/May 2010, it was in decent condition other than a few rust spots.

Think its about time i updated the thread again as i have new pretties for the car!

After th spray, she was under cover for a good month, protected from the snow and rain. Car cover blew off one night of heavy wind this past week or so ago and she's aving a bit of a breather.

Bought a second dashboard for the car, drove all the way to Shropshire to pick it up. Driving from Shropshire to Cardiff with a complete dashboard rammed in the back of a Toyota Starlet with fixed back racing seats and a full boot audio install was fun!!
Shall be sending the second dashboard of to be Flocked soon, will be the first piece that will be for the inside of the project!

The same weekend, i bought some very pretty pretties!

The wheels will be refurbed and colour changed. Will be a solid red on the centre section, with the polished lip still remaining.

Next thing, LOWERING (After wheels get refurbed)..

To be continued...

Umm.. well its a straight swap to replace them.. but the 6n2 bootlid needs aligning with the rest of the rear (bits under lights and lights etc.). You'll need the 6n2 rear lights too (as i have) to make the swap more 'flush'... BUT, i had the boot aligned with the spray job so i couldnt tell you what to do myself sorry fella :\

this is cool, you're not messing around!

Yea mate!

Lowering is coming soon ;) funds are a bit tight after the seats as i couldnt really afford them (although they were cheap as chips) - s no more spending for a good few weeks i think :\

Yeh cool man, if you on a budget then i can recommend jamex coilovers.

I know the die hardson here all say you should but decent coilys but they honestly are not as uncomfortable as everyone says and the build quality is (touch wood) excellent, I've been in less comfy standard cars than mine and its wound down to about 70mm atm

good luck with the build!
