Polo 6n - JDM Whore.. Takatas, Brides, GTI CONVERTION

About time i updated this build thread after a good few months of nothing posted!

Had a few things done since the last post, had a payment through for the sale of some items so i was able to continue the project a bit further..

Firstly.. after some hard searching on ebay and such other sites (incl club polo) i actually managed to get hold of a full set of 16v Grills for the bumper, fitted these and soon after i actually got round to making my home made 'tilt-bracket' for the from licence plate. The plate sticks out away from the bumper a fair bit at the moment so i am going to cut the L-Brackets down so the shortest fixing holes meet together (shall upload pictures if needed).

After giving the car a good Autoglym wash, Super Resin Polish and High Definition Wax..

Check the reflection in that bootlid!

I also sent the wheels away for the lips to get polished to start the refurbish - Had them back in less than a week.. I shall get pictures up when the final thing is done ;)

I accidentally on purpose bought a nice new set of coilovers (FINALLY!!!) the same day and they arrived in about a week and a half after purchase - due to the 'eCheque' clearance time-out..

Me and my mates fitted them today and got them all on and leveled to about the right hight - fine tweaking needed but its just testing at the moment..

The wheels on the car at the moment or the ones going on there?

The wheels that are on there at the mo are the ones that were on the car when i bought it.. just going to spray these red and use them as day-to-day wheels and keep the rota's as show wheels :)

I'm gunna give my honest opinion and I'm not trying to be rude, I really dont like this, i thought it would grow on me but it really hasn't :( In my eyes theres too much going on, you need to break the colour up a bit more i think its a bit too full on for me.

Massively appreciate the work thats gone into it, but not for me, hope you can turn me sunshine!

Loving the colour was going to say it was the VW T5 Blue but noticed you said it wasnt a VW colour, I love it!!!

It is my favorite colour in the world (yellow is 2nd)

loving the lows and loving the jap numberplate placement I'm thinking of doing the exact same on my 8v front bumper

Not alot has happened recently in the project, money is realy tight at the moment especially with Modified Nationals coming up! Hopefully some people from here will be coming too!

The only things that have changed since the last post are that both the cobra buckets are now fitted into the car and the rear is completelly stripped (once again). Currently in the process of removing all that horrible silver 'rubberweld' from the inside before i spray it all matt black.

Recent pictures of my car, including a recent short photoshoot..

More updates to come soon as i am now doing more work onthe car :) Keep looking!

New update after about 2 months of silence..

Money is still tight at the moment so haven't been able to do that much in terms of progress for the build. However, i have managed to do some bits and pieces that make the car look a bit better both inside and out.

Firstly - WHEEL UPDATE! I have had the lips of my Rota's Re-polished and they are now absolutely gorgeous, shiny any new looking. All thats left to do is get some money together for paint so that i can complete them. I shall get some pictures of them in the next few days, they have been sitting on my garage shelf for the past few months untouched - i need a job:(!

I also removed the helper springs from the rear coilovers to get that extra bit of stiffness and lowness.. contemplating taking them out of the front tho. My mate 'Justnikk' had all 4 out at one point and he swears blind that its the most horrible experience ever.. Anyone removed their helpers from the front? Need as many opinions as possible to decide whether they should be in or out..

Started work on the inside of the car aswell seeming as though i dont have money to continue the outside. I have began to remove the seam seal from inside the car so that the seams are exposed - as I'm going for a stripped interior i think the joins between metal panels will add to the style. Once this is all out i will be spraying the inside matt black and then i shall begin work on the single sub install in the spare wheel well. Something small, subtle but effective will be made and also sprayed matt black (or even red.. who knows)..

GEDC0319.jpg

GEDC0318.jpg

As i had a car show coming up, my first one with myown car, i thought ide do some little touches to boos the appearance of the car a little bit.

I painted the rear brake drums in High temperature black paint and the front calipers in Blue. The calipers were nowhere near a perfect job. Pretty much a slap-dash job but they turned out pretty decent i think..

GEDC0357.jpg

GEDC0356.jpg

GEDC0355.jpg

Remember that B&Q Licence plate bracket i made, well i thought that the look of that was letting the side down so i decided to give them a quick lick of paint - 'Audi Laser Red'.

So the first car show on my calender was 'Modified Nationals' at Peterborough Showground on the 27th-29th June, 4hour drive each way was horrible.

Got some people looking at the car, wish i had my rota's on and all finished though! would have gotten loads of peoples attention then :( There were a fair few polo's up there also.. A few of here i believe.. Matt brown one and also a matt grey.

The front plate is on a home made tilt bracket, slightly too big at the mo, contemplating cutting it down so it sits a bit more flush like

and noo the stickers where easy as hell to take off and didnt leave any residue or anything so happy days!!

I drove home from the show with the back three windows completelly stickered hahah

dude, i stuck those maxxis stickers over my bikes in the past. They left such a horrible sticky mark!!
