How do you make rally style wheel arches?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

So, basically i want to put some rally style wheel arches on my polo,

However, all the ones I've seen on ebay are either far to expensive or not what i want!

So i was wondering if anyone has made some before, what materials they used, what fixxings, moulding etc...

I was thinking, fibre glass but I've never worked with it before so i'm unsure.

Any help would be very useful,

Thanks very much!

Tom

I've just has a good idea, of using a clay style mould, and fibreglass over the top of that, make a flange on the wheel arch for pop riveting???

Dude get some second hand wings, make what your after then make a full fiber glass wing, don't be fooled thow it will cost a Bob or two for materials then the ammount of time...

How much are the ones on eBay that you won't??

Pm me for more details I'm machining my own fiber glass wings

DO NOT!! USE AN ANGLE GRINDER

Have you tried Berg cup? they do alot of arches for vag cars.

Berg cup arches are usually pretty expensive IMO, fabbed steel would possibly be easiest

Cheers buddy. yeah that car looks sick!!! Thanks for the link!! what is that stuff?? expanding foam? and then pastes over it with fibre glass!!!

You recon it would still look good even if my alloys didnt properly fill the arches? like, do you think i need wheel spacers or not? thanks alot!

I wouldn't want to even attempt it unless you're very skilled at bodywork.

berg cup arches would work though

fabricating some steel or ally could get abit messy

you know berg arches are all same all way around lol.

Takes some modding though. Lots of griding and bending which me personally wouldnt want to be attempting!

Work the risk tho. nothing to lose, if the look shite then i wont fit them!

Got to start somewhere i spose
