you running 8p then guy? i can do 50 in 2nd, 80 in 3rd and about 105mph in 4th, Was talking to olly tonite, he said with the 8p he got 90 in 3rd and over 120 in 4th!!

I'm quite looking forward to the 8p ratio's on my 16v as my mk4 screams in 5th on the motorway, must waste so much fuel!

yeah 8P on a G40 will see 120 plus in 4th!

I'd say the only issue with my box on the afh is that 1st gear is all but pointless. By the time you let the clutch out its time to change to second, once I forgot I was in second when I pulled up at a busy junction and launched the Fuck out of it with a bus heading towards the drivers door. The thing was like a fucking sling shot, it fired me off and just kept going, it wasn't till I went to change into 2nd that I realised what had happened

what box is that then guy?

As far as I know its the 8p, I was told at the rolling road day that they hit 90 in 3rd so on the way home did an experiment and I can confirm that my box hits a little over 90 in 3rd

Yeah, i know with my spi i managed over 100 in 4th (on the ring :D) and thats the same box ill be using on mine. Near identical ratios to an 8p.

GT box is awesome on the GT as it max's the use out of the 75bhp. But really its not much use on anything over 100bhp as you will have good acc on most other box's that are used on MK3 polos. And gives you more top end than a GT box ever could.

It will still pull well in 5th too i reckon.

G40 and GT 5ths (the same iirc) allow it to pull far too much IMO. as thats not what you want from 5th. 5th is meant for cruising. 4th is meant for overtaking on motorways. Its a lazy mans 5th haha.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS.

Reverse rake ftw!!

The car just has way too much power, that is all I can put it down to.

Arr man :-( , You might need some up-rated TCA bushes,

Mines pulled the bushes out of the TCA's just when i was tightening the ARB mounts up! , Old shitty standard ones.

Or is this an excuse for a wishbone subframe conversion :-D

Max, I wish I could afford to in all honesty, I'm totally flat broke atm and this was the last thing I needed!

Need to pay off my loan from The Bank of Brett first. :(

Haha bank of brett.

Good look man, hope you get it sorted asap. What actually happened then?

Probably from the abuse it gets, Floored it in first then it just happened lol

Too fast for its own good!

This is strange though, its pulled them through the opposite way to what ud expect

It has a MK2 5 speed ARB on, this doesnt allow you to put a cup washer on either side of the TCA bush. so its managed to pill through towards the rear of the car.

Your damn right Bank of Brett is priority

Yeah thats the way i would have thought it would have gone, think of the directions the wheels are wanting to go, pulling the TCA forward and if there's no cup washer its just gonna go straight over the ARB.
