Royal Fail

I think its fucking disgusting personally. You pay for a service, which is then not performed correctly. And we lose out. I'm aware of the situation with the post office, sorting staff and agencies, and its poor. I like the idea of royal mail, but currently its a gargatuan behemoth swallowing public money, providing a substandard service in return. Also, the idea of registered delivery, postal insurance in general, and other schemes like them are a joke too. You pay for a service, i.e. to get parcel from A to B, and then have to pay more to gaurantee its delivery! I dont get paid twice for doing my job; once for making a piss poor effort, and then again for actually doing it. Honestly, when did all this postal insurance come about? Its like compensation claims, they fuck me off too

nice person

think your automaticly insured up to £30 anyway ,and cost og my goods and delivery was £22

i provided enuff evidence for the case and they say i did not provide enuff WTF

so if we were automaticly isured up to £30 no matter what why do i get 6 1st class stamps in exchange for my £22 tbh thats a f*cking joke

you have to keep annoying them, they try and palm you off with stamps, you just have to kick up a fuss and they eventually pay

I put in a at the start of the year claim for an item I sold and the post I paid and I got a cheque for the whole lot this week.

omg why are they being gay about it to me this sucks

A few posts back I think I might of stood up for Royal Mail............ Now I agree with you... 4 weeks I've been waiting for my 'ghost' torch complete with LED & laser pointer.... I'm going to complain if its not here by end of next week!!

The awkward moment when a newbie joins the forum who works for Royal Mail. . . . .

Could be worse  We have just dumped City Link from doing our deliveries from work since they kept loosing things, and not cheap things either :( Laptops and stuff like that.

Still don't like RM though

Ahhhh i see.

Well in my defence i dont work with the letters etc, I'm a technician :)

Trying to keep the red vans on the road is quite a mission :p

Working for Royal Mail (not as a postie! but as a technician like polo parker above) i know a little bit of what goes on in the mail centres.

look at it from a different perspective people, Royal Mail deliver on average 80million letters and parcels A DAY and lose so i am told 250.000

yes alot i know but thats only about 3% and you could probably put this down to the temporary staff stealing them.

losing 3% of all mail is outragous. Thats one in every 33!

yaaaaaay someone agrees ,I'm going to kick up a right fuss now ill use the information below aswell thaqt will hold my defense i think :)

Sorry I meant 250000 items a week. Typo sorry lol,

I agree loosing any letters or parcels is bad but it's just not ever going to be possible to deliver 100% of letters due to human error.

All I can say is go through the claims procedure and hassle them for the money back, ull get it in the end.

always wondered though how do they lose them ,like where do they end up because they can never find them so they must go somwhere :?

a bloke called john takes them.

I was reading in practical performance car that royal mail actually sell off 'lost' items at auction to independent buyers, who are then free to do what they like with them.

Surely this is theft?

Not sure about that. But stuff that is never collected from them then maybe they sell or distory it after a period of time.

Items that arn't collected maybe, But items that RM claim are "lost" - how can they sell them if they were lost? surely they would stil be able to deliver them?

i had a card put through my royal mail, that i wasnt in and that the item was left at a neighbours house

neighbours in my book are next door, door after? they left it at a house around half a mile away

my road is very long,I'm at the start of it,the parcel the other end

took the piss
