Window regulator

Hello

Got a 6n2 gti and the drivers window goes down fine but when it comes up it will be slow and stop half way then go down fast. Been told it's prob the window regulator just want some advice of it is that. Brought one today from vw cost £80 so want to see if any one else had same problem and it was definitely the regulator. As going to fit it tomorrow.
