piper pulley came today but unfortunately it doesn't fit! I think it may be for the solid litter as it has a notch cut out for the woodruff key. ill give them a ring tomorrow and fingers crossed they will have one that fits.

On a more positive note, I received my 5speed stuff from Vee-dub90 and adambeevers dropped off my new front and rear door cards and speakers. Fitted the fronts and I'm chuffed with them already!

Plans for tomorrow are spray the bumpers and give him a good clean.

pics of the interior will follow tomorrow after the good clean.

Small update. Sprayed all the plastics and the car is looking soooo much better for it! Cant really tell from the pics as they were taken on my phone but it looks a lot better!

I made sure the plastics were clean before spraying, then used a plastic primer and then matte black paint. Really happy with the results!

The vernier pulley issue is still ongoing. I have to send the pulley back to piper along with a standard one so they can see which one i need.

Progress soon hopefully!

Help me find a vernier pulley! Car is stranded until i get one.

I could run a standard cam and pulley for now i guess but that would be a waste of £150!

The decision has been made to modify the standard pulley as i cant find a vernier. So ill do that then ill have the engine ready to put in!

Also thinking about powder coating/ spraying my wheels white. Any thoughts?

Personally I don't think White wheels on a white car works. Black centre's work though.

On a white car, light blue or a strong red with the rim of the wheel polished.

Seem to have encountered another problem now :(

Bought a four branch and was going to run it with the standard exhaust until i could afford a new one but just had a look at my exhaust and it goes straight from where it meets the standard manifold, right through to the end. So no place i can split it and fit the four branch which sucks...

Only options i can think of are cut the exhaust where the four branch would meet it but then i have to find an adapter which i cant see being easy.

Suck it up and buy an after market exhaust.

Or buy a standard exhaust from someone that will fit onto the end of my four branch.

I'm presuming its because my car being 1984 didnt need a cat so the exhaust isnt a cat back.

So if anyone has an exhaust they want rid of let me know.

Also, do breadvan exhausts fit coupe's or are they too long?

Thanks.

think there same systems, as they arent actually longer, i dont think.. just look it.. and yes mate will try get over soon, been real busy and my cars not been worked on in ages, no motivation :( you got all the parts? shall invest in a multimeter and come over maybe this weekend at some point, saturday evening? maybe, if not maybe sunday eve?

I've got some male bullet connectors, so tomorrow ill get some speaker cable and female connectors if your coming over. Saturday evening will probably be best but sunday isnt an issue either.

Also, engine is ready! Picking it up from the workshop tomorrow or saturday. Going to be working like crazy to get it going before the 29th as i go on holiday then straight to uni after that.

Cant wait!

seem to be having troubles fitting all the extra bits to the block and head already. Looks like the the dizzy i was hoping to use isnt going to work as the end of the cam i was using is different to the new one. So if i get a new distributer does that mean i have to get a whole new ignition system? Ill have to get one eventually to run bike carbs but I'm not sure what bits i actually need.

Let the fun continue..

Bit of an update..

Bought a new ignition system for the engine as the old one didnt fit. I've fitted the bits but not wored them in yet as i dont really know what I'm doing and have found that there is one less wire than on the original so I'm not too sure what to do.

Still having trouble piping the thermostat housing up, not sure where pipes go and stuff so just been stressing over it really.

If theres anyone who can help please follow this link: http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=256236

Thanks.

Was really looking forward to updating this as i was supposed to fit my carb, and get very close to firing her up today!

Would have done that if parcel force wernt such dicks! Whats the point in putting parcelForce 24hr on the side of the bloody van if you cant deliver something in 24 hours!!!!

So annoyed...

Leave for holiday tomorrow night so nothing worth talking about will get done tomorrow. I expect the carb to turn up by the time I'm home so ill come back to this in 2 weeks :(

F***ing sh*t parcelforce....

Also as it sounds like your going to be hectic, give me a yell when your home and ready to get the car running and il make the point of coming over and help you get it running before you go to uni! If fuel allows that is, should do, get paid soon.. have a good holiday buddy!

Thanks a lot for the offer bud but still got a little bit to go before I'm ready to turn the key. And for the cd player, how can i test if thre is something in there?

Need to sort the wiring for the new ignition, find out which is positive and which is earth (red and black and the black wires coming from the coil) DONE

Get the upper and lower rad hoses and fit them

Flush the coolant system

Find out what pipes go where on the 1300 carb i have just fitted DONE

Try and fit the choke cable

Get spark plugs DONE

Do the timing

Put all the wires where they are supposed to go

Then should be ready to turn her over.

Still seems a long way to go, needs to be done by sunday as well :(

One question...The wires coming from the alternator, where do they go? I have a feeling that one goes to the battery nagative but no clue on the other one.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
