Will be up for sale shortly so anyone after a nice mk2 let me know...

why?!?

i like the flow bench graphs. How is the 'best' calculated? Your getting some good results with your work. I like the info about the lift. I guess a greater duration would benefit such an engine

Adam: I'm getting old now so want something more modern and comfortable. More power too.

Prankstar: I'm not sure how the best was calculated, I'll find out soon. Did you manage to get pictures of that door?

239mm? or 256?

239mm? or 256?

239mm, 256mm sounded a bit complicated to be honest. Ill be running these with greenstuff pads so ill see how it goes. If they're not enough ill go 256.

Looking for a drivers side door too if anyone has one :)

256 would be overkill in a mk2 destined for the road only tbh 256's do a fine job of stopping my 6n2 mind.

Lovely motor, what head have you got on this?

Thanks a lot bud, first person to say its nice i think lol. May be wrong...

The car is running a GT head but the only differences to a normal head are the cam and the double valve springs (i think?) and I'm running a newman fast road cam in it anyway so not much different to a normal one. Other than that its been ported and polished and had the valves back cut.

Looking out for a drivers side door now to tidy the out side up a bit.

Car is now for sale, PM me if interested.

Thanks.

Hi mate, what aspects of the ports were improved to get the flow bench results?

I'm about to start off smoothing the ports on my refurbed 3f head.

Hardly anything at all to be honest bud, no major work. Mainly it was just smoothing out and blending. Theres only so much you can do with a port with a 90 degree bend in it...

Arrived this morning, they look even better in the flesh. Thanks very much to beyond evil on here for a very smooth, easy transaction!

Next stop, bogg bros to get them set up. And yes, the weber will be for sale soon along with my other carbs (CBR) and the GK inlet manifold.

Been playing around with the settings on the weber this morning as it was having trouble pulling away, it would just die. I got the info from this site http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/carb..._lean_best_.htm provided by MaxMax on here (thanks) and it sorted it a treat. think it was running pretty rich before so hopefully fuel economy should be better too!

Want to get the bike carbs fitted as soon as poss, the weather is holding me back at the mo as i dont really want to drive to yorkshire with it being so cold and the possibility of carb icing. Hopefully ill get up there end of next week. Ill trial fit them at home and see how we go. Need to order a weber pedal block and then ill buy some cables when I'm in yorkshire.

Just ordered a ashley exhaust too from motorsport world. Once that arrives ill fit it along with my four branch and hopefully that will allow the engine to breathe a bit better as I'm still running the 1.0 litre exhaust! Just hope its not too loud. Its twin silenced so hopefully it will be ok.

Ill get some pics up when I'm fitting the exhaust.

Exhaust has arrived! They are on offer at motorsport world by the way if anyone wants one. The tail pipe is quite big though, not too sure how its going to look. I'm pretty sure I'm going to want to mod it quite a lot. i either want to cut a bit out of the metal panel at the bottom and make the tailpipe sit higher as i always think they look really odd normally. Or ill but the tail pipe off and weld a 90 degree bent pipe in there so you wont be able to see the exhaust at all. Not sure yet. I'm fitting it tomorrow along with a trial fit of the bike carbs so ill be sure to grab some pics.

Fitted the braked yesterday. Pretty easy job, not noticed a huge difference yet but hopefully they just need bedding in properly. Anyone know how long they take to bed in? Ill get some pics tomorrow althought they are just brakes really lol.

Looking forward to getting these bike carbs on!

Had a bit of a re think since my last update.

Bike carbs and exhaust now sold due to money concerns. Head gasket went the other day so put a new one on and it was running horribly when i tried to start her up, so pretty sure its a tooth or so out. Going to have another go on thursday night.

Also, I've finally taken the plunge n ordered some ARB blocks, really looking forward to getting them on and seeing what difference they make.
