Looking well mate, I'm copying you with look the look of the silver polo I've just got. I Think a set of stubbys would finish yours off just right.

Yours was looking sweet, so clean compared to mine, I didn't even bother to wash mine

and I'm well jel of your side markers......

and thanks man, Like my selective parking next to a higher polo :paranoid::lol:

More to come which I am editing now :D

Edited by Richibobs

Those pics are awesome rich! I put powerlooks on mine a few weeks back and it completely changes the look of the car! Weirdly enough as I was putting them on I broke one of the clear indicators so put the orange ones back on and decided to keep them, they contrast nicely! They look great on yours too! :D

Pics look great dude 8-) those bolts really stick out! haha

Also i've just noticed you have colour coded door handles....woops

When you fitted your powerlooks do you just plug them into the original wiring loom, or did you change it all over and use the new one?

Well when I got my powerlooks they came with a wiring loom which was for 7PIN, however mine is 4PIN.

I cut off the driver's side 4PIN plug and I cut off the 7PIN plug from the loom that came with them and wired them up, wiring was a bit of a ball ache... didn't need to wire up the passenger side either because the loom is 'all in one' so it stretches to the passengers side if that makes sense.

So yes I used the new one.. jeeze I stretched that out! haha :D

Okay haha.

I see what you mean though.

I'm not sure if mine are working properly, only the drivers side turns on with full beam, do you have both sides?

That's strange, yer both of mine are working fine i've got HID's for main and full beam and both sides work... have you used the original loom? Or the one that came with it? Might be a case of just having to play around with the wiring :/

  • Author

Yeah I just plugged them straight into to original loom which is probably why I only have one light on full beam lol, I guess I should change it over to the new one they gave me.

Also do you have headlight adjustment, and if you do does it work with the powerlooks?

Mine seem to be dipped down to the road so I think I need to adjust them up, but I don't have electric headlight adjustment so i need to try the little wheel things on the back of the light to make them shine a little higher hopefully.

haha I think that's where your going wrong, just try the new loom and you'll probably get it working in no time!

My car doesn't have headlight adjustment but the powerlooks do, but obviously I didn't wire up the adjusters.

Yer it's really easy to do, just line up your car against a wall or garage and watch the beam move, be careful though when you are moving the cogs at the back, they adjust the alignment so slowy that you might not actually think they are moving at all and go a little overboard like I did haha! I decided to put mine quite low because i've got HID's and don't want to dazzle anyone. :D

Okay cool man, I will try have a play with them tonight and see if I can get them aiming a little higher.

I will change the loom over when I have some time hopefully, you say you just cut and swapped the plugs rather than changing the whole thing over?

Here are some more photos :)

One of my favourite pictures of yours! Car looks

Yup, cut the drivers side off, stripped the wires, block connectored it up to the new loom (of which I cut off the plug and stripped the wires) block connectors were only temporary though, have soldered mine up properly now! It's really easy to do... I have written down which wires to connect to what somewhere... I'll dig it out and PM you if you want? :D

Oh my car is a 98 so it's actually 7 pin so I dont need to do that I think.

I'll just have to change the whole thing over I suppose

hahaha! it should just plug and play then shouldn't it? Would have been easier if you had 4 PIN haha :D

  • Author

I thought it was plug and play but I don't have everything on with full beam so I'm guessing I need to use to loom they supplied, dont suppose you know how difficult it is to change the whole loom lol?

what headlight switch are you after man? i've got a couple doing nothing.

  • Author

I need one with both front and rear fogs, and the headlight adjustment wheel thingy. :)

What sizes are your wiper blades mate? Daft question but I've got eBay and my local motor factors telling me different things
