you only realise budgrt tires are not as good when. there life span is a lot shorter not tred wise but just general use, in the wet i had two budgets on driving carefully and it had started to crumble after 6k miles and didn't grip at all. the premium money were 100& still perfect minus the obvious tred

people make out that budget tyres are dangerously bad or some thing, but the facts are that budget tyres don't cause crashes, bad drivers do and then blame their budget tyres.

yes most premium tyres give better grip over budget tyres, but for the most part the only time you need that extra grip is when your not driving to the conditions. i know how hard i can push my budgets and i know that if i drive like a dick in the rain i can't be sure that they will grip, but being as i don't drive like a dick in a rain any way i don't seem to have a problem with them.

I've noticed that some budget tyres have realy realy soft rubber, i had some that you could actualy push the tread around with your finger. There the ones that didnt last me long

I have ran the cheapest shittest tyres for years, generally i run marshals as they seem to be reasonable rubber for their price £60-70 per tyre. I do high mileage every year 24k and these tyres are good enough. As most of you on here dont drive like tits then there is no need in the expensive rubber. If you find yourself rear ending some one dont blame the tyres ... your driving too close!

I've just got a new polo with goodyear eagles on it and to be honest cant tell the difference. I think the only way ill be able to tell the difference is if i got excellent coilovers and uprated roll bars and drove like a nice person!

I did 5 laps of the nurburgring on mismatched budgets (we are talking £35 a corner budgets, it doesn't get much cheaper) and they did surprisingly well.

However, compare those to the toyos i have on the RA's atm, and they are shocking. and stupidly noisy when cornering hard. the bugets made so much noise on the ring it was a joke

In the wet, i could take a roundabout slowly and still start sliding. they were scary. 1.3 spi spinning up in the wet in 3rd, on accident. This shouldn't happen If they cant handle 55bhp then i dread to think that why would be like with for example, a G40 (oh wait, we put them on a mates G40.... you dont wanna know ) They would spin up in the dry in 3rd lmao!!!!

People may assume I'm a tit because i feel the need for decent tyres... but i know my reasons are there lol

I've got some falkens for £35 a corner and they handle a dream, baring in mind i haven't stretched them... so good luck

i deal with tyres everyday working in a garage and they really are the only thing between you and the road, dont scrimp and save on them at all.

and if your really bothered about safety you wouldnt want to stretch them either.

if the side wall is at any more than about a 35 degree angle you have the chance of them popping off the bead of the rim no matter what brand the tyre is.

Think a 35 degree angle is more than generous haha. That means basically any stretched tyre ever is safe.

hahaha i'm fine just been slamming round corners at 65mph and survivng i drive to the limit of the tyre and these are pretty good for the price :)

i've mostly run budgets for years and not put it in a ditch yet, no matter how good your tires are if you drive like a dick sooner or later you will crash and no amount of grip will change that

rustproof, your tires didn't save you on that occasion, it was just shear luck that no one was coming round the island as you came barrelling along driving like a cock end that saved you. if you were a good driver you would of been driving to the conditions, but judging by that little tale i think it's safe to assume your a pretty shit driver

lol i will admit i wernt paying attention and was very lucky no one was coming, this was the worst maked roundabout ever tho, i looked away for about 4 seconds and looked up again and see it 50ft i front and because it was wet i couldn't slam the brakes on or i would have locked up and crashed so had to ease them on and engine brake and go with it. it was the first time i have ever almost shat myself and i could see a crash happing like going straight over the round about, i felt if i was a normal day to day driver it would have been a crash. btw this was all on a dual carriage way and pretty late so it wernt danger's to be doing 90. the tyres did a amazing job at holding me straight i rate parada's so much. i dont drive like a nice person at all tho, always make sure its safe to open it up a bit, fuel cost restrict me lol.

you were doing 90 in conditions that prevented you from seeing an island, baring in mind that doing 90 on a duel carriageway in perfect conditions is illegal anyway so as much as you think that makes you Michael Schumacher, your a shit driver and if you hadn't of told this story on here most people wouldn't of known.
